Do those average speed cameras really work?
Half Colin said:Yeah, same here - drove through the same stretch on Monday at 50 and overtaken by some guys doing at least 60.
Has anyone been caught, or know someone who has been caught, by average speed cameras?
I think you are wrong - that flaw was filled pretty quickly.lacroupade said:SPECS cameras have a 'flaw' arising from the original type-approval process that has never been updated.
They can only prosecute where a vehicle has been identified as being in the same lane at BOTH cameras, so lane-hopping between cameras prevents detection.
In addition to that, most motorway roadworks setups only have two cameras covering the middle and fast lanes, so guess where the safe place to drive is?

details would be useful? I drive SPECS very frequently at - ahem - inconsistent speeds, and lane hop regularly.....not been hauled in to date so I believe this to still be the case.
