Average mpg test

Ah, so I must be overdoing things - I only tend to miss out 5th from time to time, although getting towards the red line in 4th does get pretty exciting at times! (When I am on the autobahn of course).
My TC is still showing the same 29.7 mpg average as it was last year when I bought the car (never reset) but I know from my geeky Excel spreadsheet the car has averaged over 31 mpg during my ownership.
More than happy with that given the performance. :driving:

I mean , no way do I get that with my 2.0i even. But then again I always drive it like a 4 wheel motorbike. I drive it the way it demands!

Since I bought my 2L I been driving it very smoothly " Like a pope" lol (HOW IT SHOULDN'T BE DRIVEN) and I would get about 35 mpg combined, for the last 2/3 days I have been really pushing it and driving it how it should be driven (May be a bit more over the top tbh) I have been giving it heavy accelerations, flooring it, you name it "within the speed limits of course !!!" lol as I had to try and unblock a faulty cat. I filled up the tank, put on a full bottle of Redex and reset all the clocks ......... after about 300 miles i got 34.4 mpg on the clock ... I am just amazed !!!!! :)

That's what I loved about my 2.0 the average never fell below 32 mpg regardless of how I drove it. :driving:

Reading this makes me feeling there is something wrong with my coupe. I regularly do trips to London and have only ever got 29 no matter how I drive?

I am constantly around 31-33 which is made up of town driving at rush hour and of about 4-6 dual carriageway runs of circa 17 miles per run each week.

Recorded 40 odd on a 130 mile motorway run with minimal traffic.

Car is a 3.0si roadster.

I've got the 3.0l roadster, never been below 31mpg. Had it up to 45mpg on the motorway at a steady 70mph, usual motorway driving gives me 40mpg, around town driving is 32mpg.

a few weeks ago i tried this out, ok I live in the new forest so 40mph limits everywhere, so dawdling is the norm but for a laugh i really tried, gentle acceleration, minimal braking, anticipation etc and FOOK ME :o 42mpg average over 170 miles on the clocks, boring as heck but these 3.0 engines are pretty incredible

Last 500 miles with mix of motorway which was driven in a normal respectable manner and single roads not so, using the paddles for fun which resulted in 29.1 mpg. Generally get a little better mpg when in sport which is surprising.

Just back from two weeks in the south of France, 2250 miles ish, temps up to 39C (So hot some days we had to stop & put the roof up and A/C on.), cruise control set at 85 on the motorways, quite a few nice mountain roads too :-) averaged 27.4 MPG for the trip.

I thought that was pretty good MPG all in all.

I did just short of 300 miles to and from sunny Swindon to Brighton last week.
Mostly motorway and restricted to 50 MPH for much of the way. I averaged 39 MPG on the way there and around 36 on the way back (booting it a little cross country).
Usually I get around 33 MPG combined cycle. What an engine ! The coupe is of course more streamlined than the roadster ;-)

I tend to get early 20's and 240 miles on a tank out of the Z but don't really do long motorway runs in it at the moment and get 70 plus out of my 320 ED best I have managed with that is 750 miles on a tank

From my 3.0 average a combined 34-36 mpg, not so good if you move it along though.
But then who bought one to get high MPG

Hmm - I find my Zed is very sensitive to how the throttle is used - I put it down to the 6 cylinders.

Might as well have a ///M as my averages are always in the low (to very low 20s) but we do have Northumberland to enjoy and I'm from the Geezah school of motoring

Usefully I can get 36mpg when travelling down the motorway to a run but my goodness does it call for a steady right foot and a heck of a lot of restraint

:driving:

I'm currently getting approx 29mpg. I drive it like I stole it so quite happy with mpg
