Hi,
I have been directed to this discussion by a couple of people who are interested in my car (the car which is being discussed).
I would like to clarify a few points relating to the car to clear up a few assumptions which have been made:
- There is absolutely nothing dubious about the servicing; the previous owner is an M car fanatic and had the car serviced immediately after buying it as he wanted to ensure the car was in perfect working order from the outset
- An oil change is due in 4750 miles
- The previous owner sold the car due to receiving a new company car (1M Coupe) which I must add looked pretty special parked outside his house!
- A full AA inspection was carried out on the car prior to me collecting it even though I had already paid in full, the seller was adamant this take place; the only thing picked up was that the front tyres needed replacing (he paid for new Conti M3's and the inspection).....I know an AA report isn't of much value but I feel that this showed how highly the previous owner regarded his car; he had posted about the car on a previous discussion on this website in May 2013, I will try to find the thread
- The car has had its brake fluid changed (14,000) miles and I am unsure as to whether it was carried out during the Inspection II (I have this service invoice). The brakes are extremely responsive, if anything they could do with being a little less!
The car drives like a dream and is in absolutely fantastic condition inside and out. I really do not want to have to part with the car but I have had a change in role in work and there is no way the cash allowance I currently receive will be enough to warrant me driving the Z4MC over rough terrain to get to remote gas stations within South Wales. I am taking delivery of a Mazda CX5 (company car) on Tuesday next week (life is changing for the worse after just turning 28!) and the mrs is on my back as she doesn't agree with me having two cars, she doesn't drive unfortunately.
I purchased this car after carrying out extensive research and having a few lengthy discussions with the previous owner due to having costly problems with a Porsche Boxster S I owned a couple of years ago. I will never in my life buy a Porsche again after having to stump up £4500 worth of repairs within the first week of ownership. I sold the car within three weeks of buying it and bought a 3.0i Z4 convertible which was a cracking little car - I had to sell the car is I had a company car at the time and I wasn't getting any use out of it due to work commitments. My experience with the 3.0i pointed me to the Z4MC when I had the opportunity to own another sports car. I would never offer a car for sale if I wasn't certain it was in top condition, Porsche ownership and rushing into a purchase taught me a harsh lesson, I would not sell anyone a car which I was 110% confident in.
I have listed the car at £14,000 but I really cannot sell it for any less than that amount as the car is a corker, whoever buys it will be extremely pleased. I am more than happy for an inspection to take place on the car although I am positive the car is perfect working order. The mechanic who carried out the MOT gave it a thorough check over (on my request as I had purchased the car two months prior) as he had never seen a Z4MC before, I was in the garage for just under two hours! The car has never had an advisory, I have all of the MOT certificates to date; latest MOT carried out in August 2013.
If you have any questions relating to the car please get in touch. The car has been valeted and is ready to go but like I say I really cannot let it go for any less than the £14k asking price, it is a superb car and has been a pleasure to own.
Cheers, Damon
