Auto Express photoshoot plea

Go back to the booking agent about the pics. You're giving up your time, it's no big deal for them to do a couple of prints of the shots they use and give you a USB stick of all of them.

If you haven't signed anything, you're in a strong negotiating position...

Best colour they could have chosen, just a shame it doesn't have mudflaps and red interior :poke:

Tim.

I suppose they could have airbrushed your flaps out and photoshopped a set of 19's on yours Tim.

Stuart - I have emailed Vicky to ask about a few things, we'll see what she comes back with!

It doesn't cost much to print the pics. I printed off some photos when I moved into my flat and paid about £7-9 ea for photos ranging from 12" x 8" to 15" x 10"

I wouldn't have been too bothered if they simply gave me the pics on a memory stick, as above, cheap to print and IF they'd given you a few prints, you then have to get frames to suit. This way round. You find a nice frame/frames and have the pics made to the correct size.
An unread copy of the mag is also a great thing to have for when you sell the car, a bit of provenance.

That's not really the point here. They're going back on what was promised and a professionally printed and mounted picture on a proper colour calibrated setup is likely to be better than a print from a high st store

Ok, that is true. I haven't read the whole thread so didn't realise Lux had been promised prints.

Although, I'm assuming (again dangerous  ) that the soft files he will receive will have been "mastered" so will look better than the original raw files in any event. And will still look amazing, even with just high st printing.

Interesting, the original post just mentioned a set of the pics, TBH I wouldn't expect hard copies and having the originals electronically is much handier.

Yeh I think you're right, I don't really know what I was expecting!! :(

I looked at an auto express today and they had an old Pug 205 GTI reviewed, pics were on a plain silvery white background - bit dull really but then again it was someone else's car not mine, so should be ok!!
Nothing to lose except a few hours on a Tuesday afternoon.

I had a photo shoot done by the evo mag. I had a Subaru 22B (which if you know your subaru's, is a rare beast) It was an awesome couple of days in north Wales all paid for by the mag. Night in hotel, all meals, fuel and drinks etc, they must of took 500 pics of the car over the 2 days and the way they get some shots was quite amazing to see and take part in, It was about 4/5 page review comparing my 22B with the new 330S hatch back that had just come out. I still have two copies of the magazine,it was a great weekend. Hope you have as much fun as I did. You will find it very interesting and to top it off they rated my 1998 22B better than the new model. :D

Photo shoot tomorrow.
What are the chances of a couple of glamour girls being photographed after me and needing a hand with putting on their fake tan?? :titshake: :titshake:

I think you're expectations should be aimed low if shot outside, they will be freezing their wotsits off, still have they broken the news to you that you're to wear a Mankini

Had an interesting afternoon at the shoot today.
Here's just a few pics of the experience (not the professional ones as you will see, i'll put some of those up when I get the finished disk).

I bet you were dead chuffed  I would love so much to have one of my cars photographed like that or featured in a magazine, look forward to the pro pics then 8)

I had my normal guy clean it first thing today, then when I got there I just sprayed and wiped over it with a micro fibre cloth.
