This guy cannot be serious :P fairplay for his approach to the task but to put it out to the public
Surely a prosecution will follow :? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5779073/Car-fanatic-sparks-fury-smashing-land-speed-record-Lands-End-John-OGroats.html

Sounds like he has just cost himself a big fine and several points. The Police could seize his car as evidence to download data from his sat Nav. Would be nice and safer for all if a judge would confiscate his car and crush it as part of the penalty

Planning for 6 years the best way to have your licence chucked in the clanger. What a 42 carat dipstick...!!

(IF...it’s a true story that is...)

Cleaner than clean are you???
Never speed???

Thought not.

What a kn*b - by all means do it if it's safe, but telling the world isn't too smart!

An 'average' 90mph :o
With the stop for fuel and slowing at speed camera how fast must he have gone at the top end to bring the average up to 90 :!:

Can he can prove he did it or is it BS? (My guess is he can't)

.... but if he can so can they! Best take an overnight bag and a some lube to the sentencing hearing they'l love him on the wing :P

police knock on door.

'I was having a laugh, it was a publicity stunt, prove otherwise'

''... well played sir.''

Although I'd imagine they'd be able to find it on cctv at various points to verify the real speed, there will no doubt be several loopholes to warrant it unreliable..

If he's smart enough to plan and execute this then drop it to the news then I'd imagine (hope?) he'd be smart enough to cover his tracks too

I reckon he is smart enough to cover his tracks, if he really did do it, anyone that plans a trip avoiding cameras, police etc, with high tech gear, is going to have thought any comeback, through, and I did notice he is on Irish plates,

Im sure he would have taken pictures at the start and at the end.
The pics will have the time embedded.
Case closed. He either did it or he didn't.

That's impressive

I done half that mileage (essex-glasgow 425miles) in 6 hours 50 minutes, including a fuel and toilet stop, sticking to speed limits, so I can only imagine how fast he had to go to make up for lost time :driving:

It might not be an F40 hitting 200mph in Japan, but the end result will probably be the same..

I did 500miles in 6 hours in an MX5. That was across Germany though. I thought the A/C was broken, as it kept cutting out above a ton, but no, the AC switches off way before wide open on them.

 Good on them

Offences he has admitted to:
Speeding - he may have avoided speed cameras but there’s also more than 10 000 anpr cameras across the uk that can be used to demonstrate excessive speed. They are already used to catch truckers with dodgy limiters.

Using a device to intercept police radio transmissions and acting upon the information. An offence under the wireless and telegraphy act.

Driving an uninsured vehicle. Do you think his insurance company was aware of an extra fuel tank, updated brakes and tuned motor?

Construction and use regulations - I doubt very much the extra fuel tank was correctly fitted

Driving an Audi like a cock. Not technically an offence yet...

Surely the cops can just use the ANPR camera network to track the vehicles movements and use that as evidence. It also looks like its on foreign plates etc. A couple of formal complaints from the likes of BRAKE etc and this sort of level of publicity and there's bound to be an investigation. I can see him getting prosecuted for a number of offences here, I don't think hes been half as clever as he thinks he has.

A lot of people.........some of whom own sports/performance cars getting upset about this...........just suppose its all bollocks....never happened , all a big lie/wind up?

He has probably been watching too much Fast and Loud and thought he would break a record like Richard Rawlings cannonball run.
He will more than likely be done for this but at least he can get a tattoo with his record time on his arm.
