Atrial Fibrillation

Thanks for the comment Ron. I think it’s called a ‘zombie’ thread by now!

Coming up to 2 years now since the cardioversion procedure, no AF recurrence at all so it seems to have done the trick. Still on the daily drug cocktail, Furosemide, Sotalol, Ramipril, Apixaban, and a steroid. I certainly don’t have the energy that I used to have, but at 76 I can’t really complain.

Got a new zed last August so still life in the old dog yet.

I waited as the successful “fix” isn’t always immediately apparent - I had my first catheter ablation under sedation and I was fine will no hint of AF - but only for a few weeks.

Glad to hear that your procedure has done the trick.

Ps i followed your new car thread - i did get very tempted to make the move to replace the 35is but mine is still sub 19k and it will be £40k ish to change I think.

At my age I have to question the value!

Here again!

I got hit with a blinding headache last weekend and ended up as a guest at Leicester Royal Infirmary for 3 days. An ECG showed I was back in AF with a rate of 130 - 140 bpm, this has now been improved with an increase of Sotalol beta blockers.

Cause of the headache not found, but I had a CT scan and a lumbar puncture, both showed nothing sinister. Back home now, resting up until a trip down to Dorset at the weekend in the Z4.
