Arrests in UK for not wearing a mask

Don’t feed the idiot and he will get bored and go away. It’s a rude response I know, but it’s the only way.

I saw several people in my local Tesco yesterday without masks. Nobody did a thing about it, no brutal handling, maybe there should have been.

Probably the greater problem is that there are those willing to listen to such garbage. QAnon believer by the sound of what he writes.

True.... anyway, how are things in wonderful Oz'? it was on my places to visit until this mess came along and I've delayed retirement.
It's -1 deg C and still in miserable lockdown here in the UK. The Zed is garaged on a charger but itching to go 8)

I remember that weather well...... :( Hate tomake you envious but today it's going to be a mild 25C after a remarkably mild summer. We have just returned from walking the dog on the beach...no heat waves, no major fires and only a couple of days over 42C.
The response to Covid varied between states at first and Victoria was the major casualty bearing the brunt of the epidemic because of major leadership issues (ironically he's managed to position himself as the savior of the country, despite the failures, and having three major lockdowns in his state in the last 9 months). While many of us believe that some of the processes used went overboard (borders closed with little warning leaving thousands stranded QR codes at every business) the fact that no one has died from Covid since last October speaks volumes and the only community spread has come from lax security at the quarantine hotels
When this mess is eventually cleared up, get down here, as airfares are probably going to be cheap to get people flying again.....just remember to get vaccinated first. :D

Things always seem a bit better when it's sunny, I look forward to visiting ...... Oh, I've been jabbed (and my balls haven't fallen off  )

I know, and it's my usual response as well. I normally don't have the time or energy to respond to these sort of things, but the level of misinformation and outright lies flooding the internet about this event (and so many others) has gotten way out of control. If no one responds, it kind of feels like an implicit acceptance, and that's how they win - by constantly grinding you down with lie after lie, backed up by psuedo-science 'facts.' And when debunked they just move on to the next lines of argument (using Big Pharma, child trafficking, cabals or the trusty standby - Bill Gates and his vaccine profiteering), knowing it is so much harder to prove the truth than to deny it.
Or as Edmund Burke so eloquently put it:
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" Ironically, a great quote hijacked by the same conspiracy believers to support their own actions.
Phew, I'm exhausted. Can someone else pick up the baton? I'm going back to Z4's... :(

Really pleased you made the time and committed the energy to give such a informed and constructive response.
I don't think this is a race that can be won, it might be time to put the batton down and accept that other views will be held even when these are hard to comprehend, accept and ignore. Job done

Agree with your sentiment,we are here because we are Z4 aficionados ,I have a stock of different wax products, because somebody on the forum recommend the Fusso product the other day I am now £23 poorer.

We all know that car products come under the “man maths” category & the expense doesn’t really count

Wow! I haven't been back to this thread since I last posted. Actually I'm somewhat surprised that it is still getting replies.

It appears from reading the replies that there was one poster who sees the world somewhat the way I do and another poster had reasoned, researched responses to my points.

Everyone else was either dismissive (which was at least on the polite end of the spectrum) or had posts laced with vitriol, ad hominem attacks and, at a minimum, rude comments. This doesn't surprise me as it seems to be the way disagreements are handled now a days.

I don't come to my conclusions or opinions based on some opium educed dream, I read and listen and watch people with varying views and decide which I agree with and which I dismiss. I assume most of you do the same. Just because my views are different (some may say divergent) from those you hold to does not make me a bad person or one who is insane. I know many of your will disagree with that last sentence, Oh well.

These are some of the people who I have watched, listened to or read that have helped me form my opinions, should any of you care to hear a side different from what is feed to you via the MSM and various government entities you might want to check them out...though I doubt that many of you will.

Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, Dr. Carrie Madej, Dr. Judy Mikovits, Dr. Vernon Coleman, Professor Dolores Cahill, Dr. Colin M. Barron. Just to name a few, there are many others but these are some of the most prominent.

I have been very polite in my posts and when I strayed, which I did at times, I quickly apologized. I see no reason for rudeness and to me it shows what a person is made of when that is the approach one takes.

For every prominent Dr who has and anti cv19 vax theory there are hundreds who dont, i get mistrust in Government and Big Pharma and Global Corp, what i dont get is why everyone who has this mistrust believes everyone else is having the wool pulled over their eyes.

Do you really think our tens of thousands much trusted doctors who have dedicated their lives to helping others and who have happily had the jab themselves are in some kind of deal with the Governments/corporations or that Bill Gates has them all in their back pocket? Or that scientists working on these vaccines dont do it because they want to save lives, they spent their lives, getting educated, trained, working their arses of to get to the top of their profession because really they just wanted to join Evil Corp and be part of a super villian conspiracy to reduce world population

I haven't posted on this stuff before and Ive avoided the "other" thread although i have read the odd page but there is one particular poster in their that seems to think he is all knowing (in other threads too btw not just that one, i guess every forum has one ) but it bugs the crap out of me that people with these opinions seem to think that the rest of us all are some kind of brainwashed sheep going through life believing everything we hear or read in the press when nothing could be further from the truth but they just cant accept that.. they and their theories from their sources are always right, everyone else is wrong.

I am NOT going to get into any debates over this as its fairly obvious from the other thread that it just a big fucking merry go round of opinion with one or two very self righteous ego maniacs insisting we're all deluded dickheads.

By the way I am pro choice as far as the vaccine goes, I do not believe anyone should be made to have it but dont force your opinion down peoples throat, Im going to take my health advice from my GP and not some internet expert who gets his opinion from youtube videos and alt news feeds

It's quite reassuring to see a bunch of sane posts in this thread. I too have refrained from responding so far, following my standard "don't feed the trolls" approach. As I'm not the slightest bit interested in what the more vocal conspiracy theory conrtibutors have to say about anything else, at least this and the "other" thread have helped me populate my "foe" list so I can avoid further exposure to their inane drivel.

I agree entirely that this is a firndly and very useful **car** forum, and long my it remain so!

Just testing. Can you see this? :D

I like Bryan Dunning from Skeptoid.com's phrase for all this antivax/conspiracy/QAnon bollocks. "The Great Endarkenment", sort of the reverse of the 18th Century age of enlightenment.

You may be referring to my post where I swore at you.

The fact that my wife and I have put-up with the additional limitations of shielding shows we take this very seriously.

I cannot support my belief that it is a genuine risk to health/life by citing various reports, stats and drs etc and we may be just some of the sheep being fed rubbish by the media, but I can’t accept that this is some form of conspiracy by, well, the whole of the world and not a real virus or as dangerous as it is reported to be. Do you see the reports showing people in intensive care dying from this disease...or are they carefully staged propaganda by the establishment?

We have both had the vaccine and will be having the 2nd dose when offered it.

I will not apologise for directing my swear word towards you because what you believe in is highly offensive to me.

It just is, and no amount of your “source” material will ever convince me otherwise.

Enjoy your precaution free Covid free life. I sincerely hope you or anyone you love never catches it, but if they do then perhaps you can visit those drs you reference and ask them what happened?

Out of interest I rang 119 directly and they gave me both dose appointments while I was on the line.

Not sure if this is too late for you to do now, having had one dose, but for anyone else I can recommend picking up the phone and talking to them. Very easy to do. Makes it a little bit easier to plan my life knowing both dates.
