Are you a proper local?

...We used to say we were all industrial gypsy's but now that's a racialist word, can no longer use it.

Yep - ditto (except for the industrial bit, we were "service gypsies"). Now say we're "nomads" but I'm sure that'll fall out of favour soon.

Was born in the Louise Margaret Military hospital in Aldershot Hampshire but always lived in Farnham, Surrey.

It's a long running joke whenever anyone asks because we always say 'It's an hour from the coast and an hour from London, why would you want to live anywhere else.

It's a small market town, I know people in the pubs, I belong to the town Facebook group and enjoy the community spirit. We have a carnival every year and a big street party next to the river Wey.

I love the fact I can walk to the centre of the town in 15 mins and a 3 minute walk from my house is a 300 acre park that's perfect for walking the pooch!
I love Farnham, just not so keen on the property prices as the average home here is £462,145!!

With all that taken into account I do consider myself a proper local, even at the grand old age of 31.

Born and bred in Rochdale, a fine Lancashire mill town set in the foothills of the stunning Pennine moors... Sadly brought low recently by all the wrong kind of headlines :(

About 8 years ago moved out to Lytham on the Fylde coastline and have been enjoying the delights of the Lancashire Riviera ever since. Mrs Pilot can trace her family back to the mid 1700's in this area, so I'm obviously here to improve the gene pool! :P

I know Farnham a little - great feel to the centre and some nice places to eat. I'm often there with work and stay at the Bush - A lady at work called Linda put me onto it - there's endless jokes to be had about having a night in Linda's Bush! :D

Ah... well I'm glad you've enjoyed your visits!

What's Linda's Bush like these days? It was getting a bit long in the tooth and was due a tart up but not sure whether that ever happened?
We've just had a restaurant called 'The Botanist' open up so the Farnhamites are flocking to that as the 'place to be' at the moment. I would steer clear truth be told, it hasn't been getting good reviews and it's another chain.

If you like Italian, Cafe Piccollo is a good, sure bet (albeit a bit of a walk from The Bush) and Cote is always consistent!
Do you ever bring the Zed? :)

Yep, Linda's Bush is a little well used, sagging a bit and frayed at the edges.... But it's always welcoming and feels a bit like pulling on a comfy sock...

Eaten in Cote quite a few times - never had a bad meal there. Never down there in the Zed - I have the 'luxury' of travelling on the company jet into Farnborough. More often than not I stay in the Aviator, but it's always nice to get into Farnham and have a bit of choice and somewhere to stretch your legs in an evening. Love walking up towards the Castle - some nice houses up that way...

Ah Aviator, I've been there a few times and know someone that used to work there so have been privileged to some of the behind the scenes details and demands that get made by guests!

Anyway, glad you've managed to enjoy 'The Ham' and that Linda's Bush is always a welcome return!
