are 275 rear tyres ok

I think it would make little difference to grip as its the compound of the tyre that affects grip more than the width. 19" OEM CSLs were 8.5 front and 9.5 back, correct tyre widths I believe are 235/35r19 and 265/30r19

I think you would be hard pushed to see the difference between 265 & 275. To be honest, the only person that's going to really notice is the car behind, unless of course you want to stand behind your own car and drawl over those wide bad boys and I mean how sad is that

I have 18* alloys, 8J front and 9J rear (Both et40) I was running 225/40 on the front and 255/35 rear, but they looked stretched on the rim, and far too tight. I switched to 275/35 rears and 245/40 on the front, and I have no problems at all with rubbing or clearance. They look much better as the tyre properly fills the rim. (And yes they do look awesome from the rear!, although that wasn't the reason for changing them.)
