Apple Event - Sept 2014

Thanks Angie, the apple website says 7 - 10 business day dispatch for the 6 but i will be in different locations on the 7th and 10th day so not sure where to order..

Well that's good because over the weekend it was showing 3-4 weeks on all. The good thing with Apple is they use UK mail and DPD so if you need to reschedule it you can before its delivered. At this stage it would only be an estimated date for delivery. You'd have to wait a little longer until they are freely flowing to get a better idea of a delivery date.

Completely not about phones, but I think my trusty 3.5yr old ipad 2 will soon be killed by IOS8.x. Runs like a dog now, freezing, hwesitating, apps and mail crashing on a depressingly frequent basis :(

I'd love an iPad Air, but can't justify the outlay right now. Damn you Apple :x

I upgraded my ipad 2 to ios8 and like you it killed it.

I would recommend downgraded it back to 7, while you still can... Wont be long before apple stop allowing it... See here:

Cheers Aquazi - unfortunately I don't own a Mac, so I don't think I can do it ? I wonder what gen I'd get if I booked a genius appointment to have it replaced with a refurbed iPad. It has been dropped once or twice which is probably not helping...

Thanks that's very helpful, so i can reschedule it if it's going to the wrong location!

Apple will allow a change in delivery address up until its dispatched but once it's sent it usually can't be changed, all you can do is delay the delivery. If the address needs to be changed after dispatch is usually only allowed within a certain distance of the original address. Given I had to confirm my name and the sender to the delivery man on Friday coupled with the fact that the tracking said valuable item they may be less inclined to change address.

But your delivery address and billing address don't need to be the same unlike buying a new contract where they usually insist on that.

I've done it now - to work. Hope it comes sooner.

Good stuff. They will email you when its left and give you a tracking link. It's usually delivered the following day and businesses are always given priority delivery as I live right in he city centre near quite a few offices I always get early deliveries, it's ace! And when the item has arrived, Apple text you too!

Battery life is amazing, only charged it once since I got it with reasonable use of taking pictures, about 30 minutes of calls so far and of course emails. Now on 51 %.

Love the fingerprint unlock (coming from a 4).

I can echo this.

I'm using my phone more than my 5 in a typical day and finding that I'm really not missing my Mophie battery pack.

The same principle applies to windows... You just need the digitally signed firmware and itunes for windows... Here you go:

http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-downgrade-ios-8-to-ios-7.1.2/

I recon if you went for a refurbed you'd get an ipad 4, so the version before the Air. Which is basically and ipad 2 but faster and a retina sceen and lightning dock.

I hardly ever use my ipad now and am slowly migrating away from the apple ecosystem so i'm happy with my 3.5 year old ipad 2 to have it in the lounge and not use it for much more then a web browser, or a remote for my smart tv!

Cheers aquazi, I use mine all the time and I have all my books on it too now. I'll give the downgrade a go later, else I guess a 4 won't be too bad. I thought they updated the processor as well ?

Looks like you could use an iPhone 6 rather than a banana....

I know nobody really cares, but I believe the Apple roll-back window is now closed... And on an impulse I decided to just purchase a 128gb iPad Air anyway :D

... I also bought a 48" LCD TV and a 3Tb Western Digital myCloid storage device, went a bit mad last night

That's the way to do it Bing

:D I am quite excited. My drivers side cup holder is currently clearing customs too

Brilliant Bing! If you want a way to spend more money... I'd have a look at changing the myCloud for a synology NAS. Having had both its worth spending a few hundred pounds more [emoji2][emoji2]
