Sorry, cant stop laughing, OMG, how embarrising for Apple, its just a 4s but slightly longer lol. Oh dear have they really spent all their money on taking Samsung to court and cant come up with anything new? Evolution? Nope, just the same old handset but with a longer body thats all.

AND here is the funniest bit - not only do they change the connector rending all current gadgets useless, they then have the cheek in traditional Apple style to CHARGE £25 for an adaptor lol. Oh its so funny. Thing is Apple know that people out there will buy their stuff regardless how crap it is an how expensive it is!

Come on wake up people! The S3 still blows this out of the water, as do the majority of new smartphones out there - even the new Nokia Windows phones are better than this but of expensive shiny crap!

Seriously, its just hilarious! As for the new headphones..... they look just as cheaply built as the old ones!

wow u r a nerd and a c0ck

At least you were only messaging your sister. If you'd been sexting the misses, your forum days could have been over! :o

the tolerances are measured in microns! ON A PHONE! As a designer I really appreciate it.

Sorry Tom I cannot let that one go, that figure isn't particularly special for modern manufacturing methods, on a critical hole/shaft where position is important then we can easily meet 0.03mm or < 1 micron on a 20 year old machine

Wow, you leave the forum for a few sleep deprived days and it all kicks off! This reads a bit like the coupe vs roadster debate. My advice is if you like it then buy it. If not then dont.

...but then that might be the Red Bull talking.

I like it :) Now have an iPhone 4 and am happy with that plus my contract is not up for renewal another year or so, but I'm looking forward to iOS6, wonder how it runs on the iPhone 4. And hopefully there will be new or updated iMacs soon :D

I wonder if there is a link between Apple/Android and Roadster/Coupe :?

Love the way blackberries are completely void here lol!

A 20 year old machine may be able to produce accuracy of 0.03mm but I still think its pretty cool. The level of finish is stellar on Apple products, never rejected anything whereas with other phones I have owned they were certainly lacking in that department. I rejected 2 N95s back in the day because the screens weren't positioned correctly.

Then you hear all these rejections from BMW manufacturing... In this recession companies a scrimping on materials, machining and fit and finish to save some money, reducing the quality of the product. Hear it all over the place... But this is 'just a phone'.

I tend to buy the new iPhones and sell them after a week and revert back to my Nokia Carbon, which just makes calls and texts!!!

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7'' today, just seeing if it's better than the Note I had (and sold)....only £199. I was so hoping for a mini iPad!!!

I tried one in the shop, nightmare. Could not get on with it, misses the intuitive approach that the iPad has.

I have to say that bit in the video with Jony Ive going on about the materials, tolerances etc made me piss myself. I'm a designer myself and having dealt out a fair bit of design rationale bullshit to clients over the last 15 years. I have to say this section had a fair whiff.

The iPhone can be looked at from 2 design perspectives.
1. As an object it is beautiful in it's simplicity and execution. I don't think any designer or mere mortal can argue with that.
2. As a handheld functional object it is pretty bad. It's not made from tactile material and a hand is not flat with bevelled edges.

It is very easy for designers to create something beautiful to look at. It's more difficult to create something that is also beautiful to use.

why isn't anybody in the industry/press complaining about the £25 cost of the adaptor, absolute pure greed on Apple's part. There's also a warning that the adapter does not support video and iPod out..............

......so if you are using the usb cable in your car with the adaptor you wont be able to listen to music from the phone that way.......brilliant

......or to any docking system you currently have :headbang:
