Apple announcement

Gorgeous bit of kit, black one looks so sleek. New earbuds are awesome too, just watched the video on them.

Only downside is I want to change networks (Vodafone->O2) so waiting until next year :(

Not much more than the 4s though if you buy it outright.
I have a 4, just the smallest size 16gb I think, sure you could buy one for £429 at the time? Maybe I'm wrong, just seems that over £500 is a lot. My contract is up soon but I'm undecided, may just keep my 4 and get a sim-only deal for a while.

The new screen looks a bit long (stretched) to me, I only have small hands so the current size is good for single-handed use.

I got my son an iPhone 4, sim only is £12 a month with unlimited data, unlimited text and 500 mins. What more do you want for next to nothing?

I just clicked on "learn about iPhone 5" on the Apple website.....

http://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/iphone-5/

"Page not found" :headbang: :headbang:

Cheeky buggers. "lightning" the counterpart to "thunderbolt" maybe, a technology they license from Intel in some of their other products :)

It is about time they supplied better feckin' headphones, so that's a plus

Sorry, cant stop laughing, OMG, how embarrising for Apple, its just a 4s but slightly longer lol. Oh dear have they really spent all their money on taking Samsung to court and cant come up with anything new? Evolution? Nope, just the same old handset but with a longer body thats all.

AND here is the funniest bit - not only do they change the connector rending all current gadgets useless, they then have the cheek in traditional Apple style to CHARGE £25 for an adaptor lol. Oh its so funny. Thing is Apple know that people out there will buy their stuff regardless how crap it is an how expensive it is!

Come on wake up people! The S3 still blows this out of the water, as do the majority of new smartphones out there - even the new Nokia Windows phones are better than this but of expensive shiny crap!

Seriously, its just hilarious! As for the new headphones..... they look just as cheaply built as the old ones!

+2

I guess you won't be getting one Gary?

I'm due for renewal on my super cheap friends and family 50% discounted contract and held out on the upgrade to see what this was like. I think I'll go for the S3, which for someone not loyal to either brand simply looks to be more betterer :D . The type of improvements I wanted to see aren't there. It is a nice looking thing though and dare say plenty of people will be walking around a town centre near you, eyes glued to the bloody thing not looking where they are going very soon.

I'll be honest - if the iPhone 5 offered something new, fresh and exciting then I may have been tempted, I like the 4" screen size better than the S3. But I wont get one no.

As for the S3, I wont get one of those either, the screen is too big.

I'll stick with my HTC Desire which 2 years in still does everything and more. Plus on O2 simplicity its only costing me £10.50 a month for 600 mins, unlimited text and 500MB of data on a 12 month contract. Happy days :)

I like the S3 but I am going to get the iPhone 5 because it will do me better for what I will use It for. I have my own earphones and an extensive iTunes library that I don't want to lose.

If I was to buy a Samsung or 'majority of new smartphones' they wouldn't work with any of the components 'made for iPod' no matter if you bought an official adapter for £25 or a replica for £2.50. You will NEVER see a 'made for Samsung galaxy S3' on another brands products as they change their connectivity all the time.

If you don't like it, don't buy it and have a little giggle to yourself ever time you see someone with one.

After all you know better :poke:

I've got an HTC Desire. It's broke twice and tends to act a bit mental every now and then. Got 2 friends that have/had them and they have had the same experience.

I think one of the big pluses for Apple products is their customer support, especially if you have an Apple store near you.

I'll stick to my iPhone4 as really there isn't much new here.

Not sure what they are doing with the pricing of the iPod touch either. Entry level for the latest is now £249!!! Considering you can get the 4th gen for around £130 if you shop around that's a big increase. Going to be a few disappointed kids this Christmas.
