As above really. I tried but failed. Followed the guide and some YouTube videos but cant take get past step one, taking the vents out.m! Slightly scratched of the black finish in the gap at the top, so gave up. Anyone want to earn some beer tokens?

Shine a torch into the vent and you'll see the clips. No reason I can think of that you'd damage the vent surround.

Where do you live?

It's just taken me 3 days to do this exact same job. Couldn't see the pins at all! Turns out they weren't clipped into place properly. The previous owner covered the aluminium dash in alcantara (looks ace!) which meant the vents and stereo sit slightly proud of the surface and wouldn't clip in.

A few confident shoves and it just pulled out.

It is a bit of a pain in the arse but all I can suggest is that you need to be firm but careful when pulling the vents out.

Guiseley is about 8 miles from me so not far at all. When could you do it?

I'm no motor mechanic but happy to help you do it - I've taken the vents out and retro fit the dash and aux a couple of times.

Ill send PM with mobile number.

Bit of a fail last night - seems the silver locking tabs at the top of the vents are missing / broken but the vent wasn't for budging.

Took to Ruth's vents to show how it should be done - but no joy for J. Sorry mate but think plan B might be required.

Cheers Tony! Scratching my head over this one. Seems like the previous owner(s) may have had a play with it before. I'm thinking replacment new dash, if thats possible to gain access to radio. :headbang:

Go the other route in. If you have small hands you can pop the panel off below the ac then work your hand up to the bottom left of the head unit where it plugs in.

That's how i did mine.

Greeno - yep tried that too but isn't an oem cable and already has cd stack on place.

EDIT : just got text from J to say he's list some skin on his knuckles but has now done exactly as suggested by Greeno - clearly I didn't have the magic touch :) Happy Days.

Well, you never guess it. I dont have the smallest hands but, yesterday tony showed me the panel underneath the ac control. Managed to do it. So happy (i'm easily pleased) :D
