Anyone sold and regretted it?

Is a Z4 3.0SI with 90k on the clock (plus a strange wandering wheel issue and an undiagnosed whining thing) worth £7k? Or more?

Its not a bad offer for zero hassle , right now if it passed somebody's inspection & testdrive you could probably get closer to £8k
Its a Se Si so not quite as desirable on paper although it may have sport seats ?
I don't see why you've had so much hassle getting it tiptop though :? they are very routine to work on & parts relatively cheap .
Have you been using a BMW specialist ? If so who so name them so others know not to use them

I SOLD MY M ZED AND REGRETTED IT .BOUGHT 35IS WHAT A CAR
BUT NOW WILL BE SWOPPING IT PLUS CASH FOR

A PORSCHE 997 TURBO LETS SEE IF I REGRETT THIS MOVE :D

I was thinking the very thing the last few days with the weather being fantastic. Roof down the last 3/4 days. Car going next week :(
On the bright side it's replacement is at port of exit so should get earlier than expected :D :trampoline: :trampoline:

No sports seat I'm afraid.

It's just been one issue after another. The only thing that has been a constant menace is the wandering steering. I had the car in at B&M Care Pudsey where they replaced various bushings and did a full alignment. Issue was still present after that so I took it back and they couldn't find anything wrong. I had my local indy look at it and he couldn't find anything wrong. Steering still wanders at motorway speeds :(

TBH the steering was the main issue. I sometimes like driving with one hand and my Z4 Coupe's steering was just too jumpy to allow that.

Ok I've got a Boxster and it's amazing and I can't see myself missing my BMW. However my E89 was beautiful and still is when I see pics of it on here. Jimbo has done a great job with it

My steering definitely keeps me alert on my morning commute. Fortunately the traffic doesn't usually allow me to get above 60 too often.... That's where the steering can really get interesting! :driving:

Oh yes, I replied to a post on here from someone looking for a Z4C!

Mine had the water pump fiasco in December 2015 and from a financial perspective I was struggling to justify keeping it. (Having taken early retirement and being fed up with working)!

Anyway the enquiry led to mine being viewed, then I drove it for 100 miles or so before I got a phone call and a deposit being left and wondered what I had done!

So once that sank in I drove 100+ miles North to look at another one! Deposit put on that!

Final result was that Ruby Black was taken away on 8 May  but Montego Blue was collected on 10 May

No regrets in the end! (So far)!

Me :D

If I had done nothing with it for the two years, it would be worth more today than then with only 23600 miles on it as well. Also, built another garage which could have housed it fine ...

26,800 :P

...and doing nothing with it for two years would have been massively wasteful for such a beautiful car. Nice to know it's still (almost) worth what I paid for it though :D

Well you could always sell it back to PVR for a profit

......though you could imagine him moaning about something you'd done given time to examine it in detail, so probably not worth the aggro

Only the wheels, and they weren't perfect when I bought it - they'll be sorted soon. The rest is just the result of the car being used. And some strangely weak plastics...

On topic... Both of my Zs have had a number of large repair bills, unfortunately cars break and when they do they are expensive. Sometimes you luck out and get a good run of no issues, but even when it goes wrong I couldn't bring myself to sell it unless I traded into something better for the money... Which we've debated endlessly on here and keep coming round to there being not a lot of alternatives. Porsche is a very popular direction, but out of many peoples reach, including mine.

I keep pondering selling mine, clearing the PCP and getting something like a Z4 Alpina or an early Boxster, trouble is once it's gone it's gone and finding another with the spec it has would be very difficult.

I'm having to sell my beloved e30 ragtop to make room for my z4 coupe, which hasn't arrived yet. Time will tell if it's a good trade. 1st post.
