Anyone know this Coupe?

Hi all. Long time, no post.

In the market for a new car and this has caught my eye. Anyone know anything about it?

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202412277559950

Things I like:
- colour scheme (exterior & interior)
- the way it is sitting on the M alloys
- appears to have mint fog lights!! New replacements you think?
- MOT history
- heated seats, cruise, xenons but no nav/screen. Perfect

Not sure:
- lip spoiler
- black mirrors and roof - removable wraps?
- aftermarket tints? Or are they factory?
- price vs mileage

Really struggling to land on what to get next and this has given me the right horn.

Cheers and Happy New Year all.

Dan

It's hard to say Dan, but that seems all the money (and more) for a 3.0Si - it's getting towards MC money. :o

There was a "Sun Protection Glass" option. If you got the VIN you could check the spec on a decoder although looking at those cubby-holes behind the seats it doesn't have an upgraded stereo.

Happy hunting anyway.

I reckon it’s this one.

Beautiful car (prob the perfect spec for me) but as Mr.T says, it’s all the money and has been each of the 3 times it’s been for sale this past year.

Well spotted. The original plate was WG56 OMM. It has had seven owners and a great MOT history. The driver's door colour looks a bit odd in one picture but it could be the light.

It is a lovely looking example in a nice colour combo and great spec.

As you say yourself price is strong vs the mileage. Even compared to other dealers selling these it is on the strong side. That being said if it ticks most the right boxes maybe it’s worth a look.

black mirrors and roof - removable wraps?
It may not be an issue these days but I remember in the past reading stories of people removing wraps from various cars (not specifically Z4s) and it taking the paint with it. Just a word of caution.

That's well nice.
It looks very well presented. In both the Z4-forum post and advert, I'm sure @abbas can help you.
It's a great combo and the grey wheels suit it.
A tidy 88k car with a very unique colour combination, rust proofed, from a dealer. £12.9k. A little high but it comes down to how much you want and trust the car. That colour combo and if it's really clean, is worth a few bob over the norm, in my opinion.
If you're going to keep it long term, the slightly higher price doesn't really matter in my opinion. (unless it's at the absolute top end of your budget in the first place, obvs).
No mention of any of the usual culprits, water pump or gaskets.

My take on your not sure's:
Lip spoiler - Yeah these are a bit marmite, mine came with one that I removed.
Mirror and roof - I'm good with it, if its a good job they'd stay, the roof works perfectly with the rear window.
Tints - I'm good with it, either way.
Price V miles - As mentioned above. Not many left with low miles now as loads have been used as dailys due to them being so good.

Thanks for the replies all, good place this is.

I'll have a think on it but the three owners in 12 months is the biggest concern for me - thanks for the info.

If anyone has a Z4C that they want to move on do get in touch. Only must-haves are xenons, manual and Sport spec. Everything considered otherwise. I'll take a look in the 'for sale' section.

Yeah I wonder why it’s changed hands over such a short period?!

I hope you find something suitable, there are a few out there for similar money with less miles

Hi Dan,

The car looks great! The black roof and mirrors are likely wraps that can be removed if you prefer the original look. The tinted windows might be factory or aftermarket; it's worth checking. The price seems reasonable for the mileage. If the lip spoiler isn't to your taste, it can be removed.

It's also worth paying attention to the technical condition of the vehicle and its service history. If possible, inspect the car in person or hire professionals for an inspection. This will help avoid surprises after purchase.

Cheers and Happy New Year! 😊

Hi , How do you remove those lip spoilers is it a respray job if you get it off !
Depends how it's been stuck down.
Mine was stuck solid with black glue, it took a fair amount of time with a Stanley blade and solvent to soften up the remaining glue.
But came away fine and after removing the last of the glue it was like new after a machine polish.

Grr this car has got right under my skin!

So looking at things in more detail I wonder whether abbas traded it in for a Z4MR (see bottom YT comment) and then "Cooper" (see top YT comment) traded it in after ~7 months at the current dealer. So perhaps it has changed hands twice rather than three times.

Either way, 7 owners total which I'm sure you guys will say is fairly typical here.

Viewing the previous topic and video (thanks swanny, sure we have spoken about something-or-other in the past...) it appears the 224s were factory fit which is cool. Also looks like current dealer (or prev owner) has resprayed front end - can't see the hairline crack - and replaced fogs.

Tints-wise it looks like abbas had no tints, the video looks factory and the ad looks aftermarket :? . Anyway, they do suit it.

Gonna call the dealer tomorrow if I get the time.

Those tints are clearly aftermarket. OE privacy glass doesn't have an outline like what you can see in the photos.

It's really not an issue and I think tints make the car look better. It's also easily removed if needed. I had my 3.0si tinted with 50%. My MC has factory privacy glass which definitely looks cleaner.

It looks great, lip spoiler aside, but the off set looks quite aggressive on the rear wheels in particular, which could be no problem. Could also be the photo. Looks mint otherwise and mileage is nothing to worry about.

I had 224M alloys on my si coupe back in the day - can confirm no issues provided using si tyres sizes

I had 224s on my Roadster and they were fine. This one does look very stance-y though! Maybe I am too old to pull this off!

Never too old..
That car is a beaut.
