anyone insure their Z4 coupe on classic ?

got 12 weeks to renewal so i am being previous but if i can't get the coupe on classic car policy then it may well have to go :o
classicline offered to run my previous classic car policy down with the zed but at the time said they would not be able to offer a renewal as the car did not fit their criteria ? ?
my NCD is on my other vehicle as is my wifes so going with a new policy is not an option for a weekender doing 2k/yr
can any other coupe owners comfort me with the knowledge that they have classic car cover ?
thanks

what :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

am serious . have a target of £500/£700 for the years insurance ,
bearing in mind in the last 3 years i have had
1993 911/964 (250bhp) £360/yr classicline
1998 911/996 (300bhp) £385/yr classicline
2004 bmw 645ci (333bhp) £490/yr classicline
my zed is a luxury & a reward & have no reservations in maintaining it to the highest level but with such low usage i cannot commit to ridiculous insurance premium's should i fail to source a competitive quote
all suggestions welcomed

i'm assuming your not in an expensive post code band so i would have thought your insurance would be less than £700

my insurer axa allowed me to use my NCB on my second car, think others do too
haha , for the record i just went on gocompare , with no ncd / £1335 ! :(
can see some specialist involvement may be required

Have you considered transferring your NCD to the Coupe and running your other car with no claims? Might be a cheaper option.

as i said , willing to consider all options . just not lancaster gate classic car insurance :D
filled in their online quote & stated i had 24 years claim free motoring but my NCD was on another vehicle . 3k / yr garaged all other times & the quote ? a rather hysterical £2350 :o  now where.s black bess ?????? can,t be far away

How does a 2004 BMW get to be considered to be a classic?

Havevyou looked at the likes of A plan, Adrian flux, footman James. Basically go round the specialist brokers. What about a good old Multicar policy

Classicline insure mine on a limited mileage policy.
interesting .
could i ask whether you use any NCD & roughly what premium ?

Jans is a roadster though. I'm just finishing my first year with classic line and it looks as if they have changed insurance provider as I am now able to add commuting although have now swapped to admiral as £50 cheaper.

They did also quote on my previous 2.5si roadster when it was only 4 years old so not sure what their criteria is.

not sure if its already been recommended by admiral multi-car?

Was the only way to get mine under £700 and thats with 3 yrs NCB.

Admiral and Direct Line gave me reasonable multi car quotes. Flux is very good for limited mileage policies.

Mine went to Direct Line as they were the most helpful about swapping NCD etc to get the best price for me. Since insuring I've been told that if you push hard you can get your NCD mirrored across cars.

Yes sure 3 years NCB and some where between £500 and £600, my renewal with swift cover was over £800. Had to declare my milage at 5000 miles

I did my roadster through Admiral multi car. Cost me about £500 for it and the Honda truck.

I looked into it before insuring and most insurers will mirror your no claims from another car insured through them. If that doesn't work then call Admiral and get a multi car quote for the Z and your wife's car even if it's not due for ages. The deal will be that you pay for the Z then and your wife's car will go over to them for the agreed price come renewal time.

It says on there website something about NCB so i can't se why having no NCB being a problem

Classic car insurance is frequently taken out as cover for a secondary vehicle. As such our clients usually come to us with no NCB as it’s stored on their primary vehicle. Our premiums are not calculated on NCB which will mean you get the same price if you come to us with 0 years, as you would with 30 years. However, that doesn’t mean you still don’t accrue NCB, you’ll gain a years bonus for each consecutive claim free year you’re with us. Should you have any existing bonus we can also keep this valid, and it will accrue in the same way.

You just need to make sure if you have a NCB they attach to the policy otherwise if not attached you ill loose after a couple of years.

I will certainly try them again next year when hopefully I need to start modding as I don't think admiral are to keen.
