my exhaust hanger has sheered and needs welding back together.

I would take it to an exhaust company...

There is a long life exhaust place in Stockport....Its on the same estate as Darren Woods BMW indy..

What exhaust mod Bypass pipes? If that's what your after and Dave can do it its a very easy mod. Drill 4 1" holes attach and weld the 2 pipes in done.

I can make up some pipes for you if needed.
 
got a quote for £30 to weld the hanger...seems like £10 too much in my opinion
what do others think of that price?
 
To be fair I would do it for £20 but I would be doing it as a mate on a forum. Personally I think that £30 is really fair it's going to be an hours work minimum.

thought itd take 15 mins haha!
 
It will probably only take 5 minutes to weld. But they have to get your car on a ramp in the air. Get the exhaust off clen it weld it let it cool down. Then put it bak on get it off the ramps and hand it back to you. If they weld it on the car they will still need to position it drag the welding gear underneath and do the job.

Hopefully they have a way of getting the rubber off easily. Or a way of not burning it! Like I said if I was doing it and you helped out I probably wouldn't charge!! But it would cost you at least £50 getting to Oxford and back.
 
Well ill be heading back home for week or so soon ( hinckley) so might not be so expensive to get to you.

I was quoted £50 to weld mine but the bloke who looked at it said it could go again

In the end I just got a new one for £200. Had to pay BMW 20% of the cost
 
Held it together with a jubilre clip instead of getting it welded....solid as a rock..
The mess around it is metal putty I decided to try lol

I think this exhaust mod is taunting me - every thread i open seems to link to dalecan's mod, and then i find a spare set of OEM backboxes in the for sale section... :poke:
