If you don't know iv been looking for a 2010 370z. Now I may be only 17 but iv been saving my money since I fell in love with the 350z roughly around 7 years ago after my brother got one! Haven't been spending my money at all just haven't been putting all of it in the account

But anyways I'm nearing my goal of 28000  I'm at 20000 now.
So has anyone had a 370/350z? I'm curious as to how it compares to our z4's. Iv only rode in one. (Can't drive stick)
:headbang:

I had a go in a 350z back in 2006 as I loved my old 200sx & I thought this would be a good swap but I settled on buying a TVR instead, I did really like the 350z though I loved its old school brawny feel to it & thought the engine & gearbox were good too, I still hanker after one now to be honest as I think they tick quite a few boxes plus I really like the shape.

A few years ago Auto Express magazine did a 12 car comparison DVD which featured the 350z & it came first in that & there were some very talented rivals in there too from prestige marques so I thought it was very high praise indeed.

Thanks for the reply  boy would I kill to put on a full exhaust in a 370z and downshift with that synchro rev match on! :driving:

I had a 370z for a brief period. I didn't like it. The suspension was hard, I didn't think the handling too exceptional but the deal breaker for me was the sound. For such a chunky engine there's hardly any noise from it and you'd need to faff with new exhausts etc to get it to sound like the engine it is. They are remarkable value though and if you can get the black or GT editions, quite a nice bit of kit. A decent enough car for casual use, but you'd need something else IMHO as a daily driver. Not to mention the fuel costs as they're fairly thirsty kicking around.

ps. I envy your ability to save like that, I just spent everything I earned until my late 30's lol

With whats on the market the 370 isn't something I would buy. I did try a 350 before I bought the Z and for me it was a downgrade in every way from a Z4M, oil burner, fuel price, uncomfortable, not as quick, poor interior, it felt cheap.

The only benefit I could see was they are so cheap, but hold no value so resale is another problem.

I helped write all the technical training for the 350z both as coupe and roadster, and having been able to drive it on a runway with the help of the consult II system to adjust the fueling ratios I can say the original and subsequent 370's are about the best NA vehicle on the road today.

Have seen a twin turbo version that would blow most other sport level cars into oblivion.

Check out the http://www.350z-uk.com/index.html-uk forum for as much noise you can stomach...

:D

Can't help on the 370Z, but just to 2nd what Maniac says & well done for saving the money.

The 'sensible' part of me would advise you to not blow it all on a car but invest that money wisely & maybe even use as a down-payment on a property, but hey, ignore me I'm nearly 50 & you're 17, at your age I'd have done the same :)

I can't help you either but I seen a 370z in blue the other day and I thought it was stunning. Looks like a proper sports car

Buy one, if you don't like it just sell it.!!!

Thanks for all the help guys! The main downside about the 350 is the "cheap plastic" interior but to be honest about ride smoothness.in both 350 and 370 I don't care all to much about it. And plus since the zed4 was bought for me I didn't mod it, but since this is going to be my first bought car on my own I plan on it being my first project car. If I save enough just fool bolt ons :driving: and plus I don't really care about drive quality in the first place. And I plan on lower with coilovers. So its going to have a hard drive anyways. But maybe ill get one sometime this year if my mother helps with the rest. thanks guys

Ill be sure to come visit the forum every now and again! :P

I also had a 200SX some years ago - looked the part and with rear wheel drive great fun to drive but only in the dry - lethal when it's wet . Considered a 350Z before my zed - in my view it looks the part ie a real muscle car. The coupe version imo looks better and in red absolutely stunning - the roadster version just doesn't look right . The interior lets it down badly - as said before cheap plastics etc. Fuel consumption is awful - you'd be lucky to get 20mpg and 25mpg on a long run ( provided you drive like a wussy ).The 370Z definitely looks the part . Not sure about insurance in the USA but here in the UK at your tender years ( lucky sod :D ) you would be very hard pressed to get anyone to insure you at any premium but good luck to you and enjoy whatever you finally choose.

I drove the 370z Nismo round Castle combe a while back... insane in the membrane!

I had 350z roadster for 3 years from new and loved it. We had a 4 week trip round Europe through France, Monaco, Italy and Switzerland over the passes etc. and it never missed a beat. Downsides, road tax high fuel around 25mpg from 3.5 v6. Still miss it sometimes but the Z feels for like a sports car to me.

When I moved to the US from London I left behind a Z3 MCoupe. I ended up buying a 350z in the states just because I got a stellar deal. My plan was to hold onto it for about a year until i found another Z3 MCoupe. I ended up keeping the 350z for 4 years. I really liked it, although not a patch on the Z3 MCoupe! It was uber reliable and really cheap to maintain and to be honest, it gave me about 70% of the satisfaction that the Z3 MCoupe did (whilst being much cheaper to run and far more reliable). In the end it was the engine that got to me. It just did not have the grunt of the BMW M plant. I think you need to take one for a drive (given the cost of these things now). Plus, my dog really liked it!

Unfortunately I can't comment on how good these are or are not as I haven't personally driven or owned one. What I can say is that as a classic Datsun fan, when the 350Z first came out I was smitten. More so with the 370Z. Looks like my kind of car. Reason I didn't buy one? I drove a straight 6 BMW and it was game over. For a while at least anyway as I'd like to one day have owned one of these; preferably the GT.

Goot luck with that last savings push and go for it!

Beautiful dog and car. btw, what rims are those? Might end up getting a good deal and spend what evers left on rims and a full exhaust

Going to have to wait till tomorrow to make sure, but my friends girlfriend might be selling her 370z and might get a good deal on it being friends and all. it already has a nice custom full exhaust and aftermarket touch screen radio. But like I said I don't know for sure if she's selling it. But my mother said if I cover most of it she might help pay for what the balance will be! As my poor Z4 isn't in the greatest condition  so I might need a new car soon anyways. (to many problems to list)

Ill keep you guys updated!

If I ever choose to move from the Z4 to the 370Z... this is the only reason i'd do so...

Twin turbo charge the mother and add a full amuze bodykit to it.

I was very tempted to buy a 370Z when they came out. I test drove one for a day. I liked it and sometimes now wished I'd bought one!
