Agree with Daz, it's a odd sort of colour can look amazing when clean but pretty dull most of the time, i park beside a 3.0 Couple at the flat and it looks very bland!

That's bollocks! (imo :) )

Indeed - I have parked near flimper at ever run we have attended, and it is always filthy so I know what it looks like

You're forgetting the 'extra' above all extras you car has: it's white! :D

always buy a car for the purpose.

a z4m is a sports car (pure and simple) . People who buy it normally value mileage, condition, servicing history, crash history, mechanical soundness as the most important parts. That is because you are buying it to enjoy the "sports" nature of the car.. By all means, if 2 identical cars are presented where 1 has all the options and 1 doesn't, it will be a no brainer as which one to pick.

But, no 2 cars are identical mechanically. As such, because you are not buying a high mielage family transport, it is more important to buy on mechanical condition than on options.

Before you ask. I bought a car that did not have sat nav nor HK DSP sound system. It had 11,000 miles (at time of purchase), full service history, tracking straight, interior looked barely used, never seen paint other than at the factory and engine felt super strong. That's why I bought the car. The fact that another leggy example had sat nav, rear parking sensors and pro DSP did not dissuade me from why I should be buying based on conditions and not options.

Also you can't get interlagos on non ///M

Correct but what he is saying is true unless the conditions are right it's not a particularly pleasant shade of blue. In the right light though it is stunning. However, Monaco blue is my fav blue on the z4m.

I think IL blue is the best colour (but of course I would :D ) and don't particularly like the coupe in white or red. My second choice would be carbon black. IL blue can look flat when it's filthy, but it more than makes up for it when clean in direct sunlight, and at night. Perhaps colour is a personal choice

The effect of the presence or absence of nav and other options on ease of resale cannot be denied - there have been several threads on here where forum members have expressed at length their opinions on the matter http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=23515.

BaJ sold his IL blue ///M coupe last Christmas for £5K less than the original asking price. He first advertised in June! The more popular options missing from his car were Nav, PDC, and heated seats: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19316

Of course I would buy a car for all the right reasons suggested by others before worrying about the extras, but there are loads of cheapish roadsters in a variety of colours available at the moment, so just take your time and choose the car that's right for you. If you do buy a car without an option which may reduce the value at resale or which might make resale slow, just make sure you pay proportionately less now so you don't take an extra hit later.

I think sat nav unit looks very modern and practical. Many new designs use the pop up unit now including new models from BMW,Audi and Mercedes. They are very popular.
