Think your car is newer model, you don’t have a satellite module, your has that blue sensor on the inner fill panel
Who knows you may be right of course, but my 2006 2.0 had it and so does my 2005 3.0 and it's officially sprecced for both with serial number from. BMW

i am still struggling trying to get my airbag light out, my sbsl 696287 seems to have died, my question is.. if i bought a secondhand one with the same number - would it just work after clearing the faults ?

Not necessarily.

My module (centre console) had issues and replaced it with an exact same module (part numbers matched). The module had to be coded so the vin (chassis) number matched. Cleaning the codes would take the light away, but as soon as you turn the engine off and back on, the airbag light was back on. Not sure if you will have to program it or not. Maybe you’ll be lucky? As it’s not the actual module but one of the side ones.

Not as far as I can tell. Mine was the module (control unit so had to be programmed). Yours is just a sensor? So think you should be okay?

My module was the 6935920 one.
