Poshy ... Put it this way. When we were nippers, my mate had to explain to his mum where all the condoms had gone that he'd been given as a joke for his sixteenth. First thing she asked was, who are you having sex with. Answer was ... "Nobody". Mother asks ... " where are the condoms then" ... Mate runs out with a red face.
He will never live that down!!! Good old poshies.

ive neve been married and would like to one day....... It seems if the big D comes in we must prepare to literally be stripped of all our f***ing hard work.... for example, if i get married, and someone moves into MY house which I've owned for 7 years now, does this mean half all my s**t instantly becomes hers??? if so... f**k that..... marriage just seems more hassle that its worth .
That should be 'at least half all my s**t instantly becomes hers'Beedub said:It seems if the big D comes in we must prepare to literally be stripped of all our f***ing hard work.... for example, if i get married, and someone moves into MY house which I've owned for 7 years now, does this mean half all my s**t instantly becomes hers??? .

I would tread very carefully my friend , even consider professional advice before making any steps forward :?
My sister met a fella , recently divorced with £180k from selling joint home ( which he had pretty much provided from working 7 days a week )
They married & bought a house outright with the £180k ( my sister only had debt) in moves my sister with her 2 teenagers & all went well for 3 years then my sister decides he wasn,t right for her , , i felt for the guy in all honesty ,
The choice was sell the house & split the proceeds or he gives her half the house value , yep she wandered off with around £90k  fukin scandalous situation i felt but the law is the law & once solicitor,s get involved it,s a licence to help themselves to anything & everything

I always thought that short marriages meant each party got 'reinstated' to their entry level...unless one party can prove they sacrificed themselves financially for the good of the partnership...if not that's pretty scary...always avoided marriage myself!

fair point, but given the age of the children and the financial contributions I would say it's relatively short.
don't know the specifics, but prima facie i'd have been a bit miffed if it were me!
