although having owned a 330d with leather and no heated seats through a winter I would disagree personally!

agreed with that, if u use a car with leather in the winter heated seats are a must! thats what making it difficult for me finding suitable replacement cars, lots don't have heated seats... and no no for me i'm afraid

Really? I can't believe you'd turn down a perfectly good car because it doesn't have heated seats. The GF's 1 series has them and even set to "1" they get too hot - i couldn't imagine setting them to "3".

In a roadster I'd say they are a nice to have, in a coupe they are unnecessary in my opinion. Nice, but unnecessary.

Totally agree, I wear shorts all year round and I found them fine!

absolutely, i've turned down numerous cars because they didn't have heated seats in fact.. couldn't be without them!
I would turn it down too, love my heated seats

Well, I must say I am very surprised. To be fair if I was speccing a new 5 series, say, then I'd probably tick that box as they aren't particularly expensive.

But, given there are what, 580 RHD Z4M coupes, some of which are either trashed, Cat D or have missed their running in service, I wouldn't want to turn down a car with impressive service history, good colour combo etc just because it doesn't have heated seats. These cars aren't exactly two a penny are they.

But then my car is parked in a garage so perhaps it doesn't get quite as cold than if it were parked outside.

For a closed car, I would not bother. My X5 does not have heated seats and I never, ever missed that. Just got back from skiing with temperatures of -10 and the seats were not cold upon entering the car.

I only use my heated seats in the M when I have the roof down as that is when I like the heated back (point to note is that in the newer Z, the heating goes a lot higher in the back then on the old one).

There are "must have" and "would be nice to have" items in Z4s. Having a Z4 in winter with leather seats without heating is as bad as not having AC in the summer. Go back 20 years and people would have said "you don't need AC in the UK" but how many cars don't have it now?

No heated seats! what next - no cupholders? Why not go the whole hog and strip out the carpets and soundproofing just to save weight!

The Z4M is not a stripped out sports car racer - it's a GT that is supposed to have a few toys and comforts.

The only box not worth ticking is the Logic 7 which is OK if the car comes with it but all Z4 stereos are pretty limited.

Me too... heated seats are a must have for me; they send the mrs straight to sleep :D
heated seat on, mrs off, foot down :driving:

Heated seats are for :hairdryer: and :gfight:
Darren should
As a thin bugger who hates the cold I've not yet felt the seats were noticably cold when getting in, even when wearing thin trousers. And the heating soon warms the car up anyway.
Each to their own, and I suppose they are more relevant in the MR
