Another not really new newbie...

Thanks, chaps. Williams rang at lunchtime to say that the part that should have been there first thing wouldn't be in until 2:30 and they would call when it was fitted. They didn't.

I have now returned the courtesy car to Enterprise and banged off an e-mail to them rejecting the car. We'll see how they react in the morning.

It does seem that the new Act does allow me to reject and I don't have to let them repair. At this stage I have lost all faith in them and even if they said it was fixed I wouldn't believe them. It's a shame as it was a nice low mileage example but there will be another.

Hi Digsy ... that's a shame and not a good start to Z4 ownership, and must admit the E89 seems a complicated car
Not sure what price you paid for your example .. but as you said there are numerous examples for sale currently to suit your spec and budget. But you may have just been unlucky and a coincidence .. try and do a service search at a dealer (just give them the key fob) a normal sign of a troubled car is lots of visits to the main dealer .. I had this once with 3.0i E85 2005 car ... when I searched, it had no less then 32 logs at the dealer. And this example when I had it had sticky steering problem, hence all the visits most probably my the original owner. Keep us in the loop and let us know how you get on .. good luck

Thanks. I'm lucky enough to have a friend who can do the service searches for me on the VIN number. Mine had only one warranty visit for a sticky window, so doesn't look it was a Friday afternoon car.

Not a peep out of Williams this morning, which is incredible. I need to get my stuff out of the car this afternoon so I suspect that is when matters will come to a head. I noticed that my MX5 is now on the Dace Exchange website which suggests that I won't be getting that back.

Not a happy bunny.

And I am once again Zedless. No quibble from the sales manager but my trade in is long gone.

Thanks for the support guys.

It's given me pause for thought but I certainly haven't ruled out an E89. What concerns me is that "mine" had the adaptive suspension option and it seems that virtually no used cars have been specced with this. I'm worried that what I considered to be a perfectly acceptable ride actually won't be without this option.
