Another fuse box question

I've just noticed I've no power to either of my auxiliary sockets (ash-tray and arm rest)
A search on here seems to point to fuse No.8 and a PITA job to get to it
After reading some of the threads I want to make sure I'm tackling the right area/panel

Under the glove box in the LH foot-well there is a grey horizontal panel, (full width/depth of the foot-well) however I can't see any locking nut.
Along the front edge there are 4 screws and in the front RH corner a hole where I assume another aux power unit could be fitted
Through several cut-outs I can see a piece of paper - fuse list?

I haven't attempted to tackle it in the dark, but as it all looks relatively accessible is the infamous fuse box from Hell?
Or do the problems start when you take the 4 screws out?

Any advice gratefully received

The fuse box is under the the horizontal panel in the footwell that has 3 screws, you don't need to remove the one directly under the glove box. It is a bugger to find the first time you need to.. You want to remove the panel and disconnect the light to properly access the fuse box, Took me ages to spot that release wing nut first time around, you do have to get your head right under there, once you've done it once it's much easier next time :D

Thanks mr.tourette
you're correct 3 screws not 4. Doh
I'll have a go in the morning, weather permitting

It is frustrating to find first time, i honestly thought I had lost the plot because i really couldn't find it for 10 minutes :D its almost deliberately hidden behind all the wiring  absolutely bonkers design, you wouldn't want to have to change a fuse at the side of the road in bad weather

Power to the Forum :yeah:

Started the job and almost instantly regretted it, but with the know-how/confidence of reading the posts on here I pushed on.
30mins later it was all back together and working - Fuse 8 had blown
School boy error, I didn't put the fuse chart back
No worries it can live in the glove box

Without the threads/posts on here I wouldn't have had a clue where it was let alone how to get it out

Thanks all again
