Another 326 Alloy Bites The Dust!!!

Well I have been cleaning up my callipers, discs and alloy wheels over the last couple of days on my now 6yr old E89 and finally got to the final corner the nearside rear and there it was the dreaded 326 alloy wheel crack!!!!!....So what do I do now... get a new alloy from BMW @ £605 and replace the RFTs @ £635 or purchase some aftermarket alloys and tyres for about the same cost. I really do like the 326s but I do not want have to keep putting my hand in my pocket for such fragile wheels.

Just weld it up and get some decent non run flats fitted. 326s look the nuts on the 89

It will just crack again eventually. Also aftermarket alloys can have a more aggressive stance via et or wider rims to really fill out the front and rear arches. Looks way better than stock imo

I'm running originals from 8 years ago, never had a problem. 12 and 15mm spacer gets the job done stance wise for me. However I do think a nice 10j would look better out back with a 9 on the front.

Hi, I enquired about your car before you bought it & the mot history showed failure due to cracked rear wheels... :o

She's never failed an mot let alone one with cracked wheels  Think you must be thinking of another Zee

In the morning I am going to order a set of 19 inch Inovit Vector Alloys in silver then look around for some decent non RFTs and hopefully that should be my 326m wheel problem sorted 👍

Know your pain :( I just replaced my alloys after finding a crack in my rear 296.

Absolutely agree.....no cracks on mine in over 4 years after fitting non runflats.

Look at your first post when you joined, I’m pretty sure that’s the car I’m thinking of-it had personalised plates on so the mot history may not be obvious :?

Yes I agree that crack has been there for quite a while so why it was not picked up at a service or MOT is quite surprising. I have only had the car for 5 weeks so quite disappointed that I now have to spend well over a £1000 to put things right

By the time you sell your 326s and tyres. And buy new ones the difference shouldn't be too high
