Angel eyes before and after new bulbs

Have just fitted MTEC "HID class" super whites - fairly happy, but just wondered if I should have gone hotter on K scale for more blue? These are 4350k.

Did you trap something in the left side of your engine bay when you closed the bonnet? Looks to be raised slightly in picture 2?

Don't want it popping open or something being left there that shouldn't be?

David
PS the new lights look loads better!

Hi All Pina,
Any chance you could show a picture of the box that your bulbs came in please so that i can compare them to mine. Your bulbs look much brighter and more prominent than mine. Perhaps i need a higher wattage?

The salesman who sold me my car advised that when shutting the bonnet always make sure you push it down from the front centre quite firmly to ensure that both clips on either side of the bonnet are engaged. It looks as though maybe All Pina pushed it down from the right hand side and the left has subsequently not clipped in place.

Here are the ones I used @KSY10, note same power but slightly lower temp scale. I think you can only use bulbs rated 35w otherwise it will throw a faulty bulb message to OBC. Somebody else posted in another thread, the higher the colour temp (k value) the bluer the light but less in visible spectrum hence not as bright.

That's great, thanks All Pina.

Hi All Pina,
I've tried to get the bulbs on e bay etc but no one appears to have the exact one's you purchased. Please can you tell me where you got them from, hopefully it will be a different seller to the ones i have tried.
Thanks
Kurt

The change looks great. Nice clean white light.

I've seen a new 5 series with white angel eyes. Is this new for the 5? If so, has anyone approached their dealer about getting them to make the change with BMW bulbs?

Thanks Obsidian,

I think the new 5 uses LED technology for DRLs, probably not as easy as just swapping out bulbs?

Don't forget that when you're comparing lights you have to establish you're comparing like for like settings, and that SIDE lights on a Z4 look very dim and yellow, compared to the Daylight Running Light setting. And even with new bulbs if you have them on 'sides' they can look rubbish.

Here's my MTECs, on DRL mode http://www.z4bmw.co.uk/lights/

Good point David - my photos at top of OP were in DRL mode.
