And so it begins... Completed...

Feel for your pain.

I did mine 2 years ago all myself. Right back to brick, false walls, new floor and new layout with suspended furniture. Took ages and lot of pain and at times when perched on cross beams sorting pipes one wonders if it will ever get finished, but thankfully we have other bathrooms/showers/toilets, so the 3 months it took was no issue...

Looking good already Perry. We're sorting ours this year hopefully and I can already see similarities in our respective inherited bathroom suites!

I had one of my bathrooms redone before I moved into my house. I learnt a lot about the costs of pretty little mosaic tiling. Hence now only have a small border around white tiles.

It's lovely to have a nice new bathroom, keep up the posts so we can how it progresses

When we did our extension I converted the old surfing cupboard with the aid of a camping porta loo.

Helped a great deal but getting four dogs up and down a ladder to the only room in one piece was a bit of an issue ( upstairs when they removed the old stair case)

:D

It took 8 months but we did do the rest of the house in that time too. Their where some very enjoyable open air toilet moments for me

That looks lovely Matt - looks like a huge bathroom too, or was that before additional walls went up?

Sounds quite a long job - is it a large bathroom or just lots to re-plumb?

Only ask because we had our 28yr old bathroom completely ripped out (and layout rearranged) in less than two weeks last year...?

Yeah that's before the walls went up unfortunately. Its big enough mind. The bath is huge and he have an ok size shower in their. The only down side is that its down stairs. the house is an old barn and is only really 1 1/2 stories tall so we have loads of room down stairs and not as much bedroom / bathroom space. We have plans once the garage is done and the drive way and the summer hose / gym in the garden. To build an extension on the back to make it a 4/5 bed with another upstairs bathroom. But that's years away and I think i can hear the patter of tinny feet in the not to distant future so that will through a spanner in those plans.

It's not a huge bathroom, but you tend to fit the same stuff in whatever the size...

The whole layout is being changed, and a linen cupboard that opens into the hall is being demolished & rebuilt (slightly smaller) to accommodate the new layout and a recessed radiator.

We had a couple of local companies in, both of which had been recommended, to give us quotes and they both estimated 3-4 weeks for the job. Part of the reason that it'll take longer is that we're quite anal about the details, we've specified some fairly high-end kit and stressed the importance of the final finish - and extra care over the fine details means extra time.

I'm 3 months into a 9/10 month renovation of two 300yr old stables. The water, heating etc will be going off soon for nearly a month.
Mibbee that's why I'm in Florida just now
Although its 1deg here today!! :headbang:

+1 That's going to be a hell of a job - and potentially a hell of a result...

Seeing as we're showing gratuitous bathroom pics this is my Bed 1 en-suite which was re tiled about 2 years ago, wall colour is wrong in pics as it's magnolia!! must be my old Brownie's fault!!!!

No more pictures from me today - yesterday they took off more old plaster and removed existing buried pipes/cables then drew lines all over the place to work out cable and plumbing runs so not much to show really.

My wife had an interesting chat with the electrician who spend ages with her discussing light positioning and the different bulb colour temperatures and how they'll look with the tiles. We're getting some cool proximity-sensing light switches though, they're installed behind the tiles and you just touch the tiles in the right area to switch the lights on/off - no more pull cords and the perfect man toy to confuse visitors :D
