An un-insured driver wrote off my car INS PRICE UPDATE

Morning guys

Unfortunately I have some bad news

Someone (A Lithuanian man) drove into my parked car yesterday and I have later found out he was un-insured!

I'm absolutely gutted as I have spent over £2000 on the car this year having various parts done (Bilstein b12, vanos, inspection2 etc)

I am set to loose my excess as he was un-insured and also don't get offered a hire car etc

The insurance has written the car off it was a 53 plate 3.0i with 114k on the clock and it was immaculate before this!

Anyone have a rough idea of what the car is worth? I have a feeling they are going to screw me over on the price to be honest!

I did take out modifications cover which was 10% or £500 extra on top of market value (which ever is lowest) which won't cover the bits I had done but will help a little bit.

I have removed a fair few bits at the scene from the car to try and pull back some cash which I will list on here when sorted (m sport wheel, zhp, carver amp, gap tech, wind deflector, matts, stubby)

The car has my personalised plate on it, anyone know what to do regarding this as I want it back before its scrapped!

Not sure what I'm to do next, I may look out for a zed but I think I will struggle to find one that I'm happy with considering all of the work I have recently done to mine and the mods etc. :(

Gutted Is an understatement, I was nearly in tears when they dragged the bent rear wheels onto the flat bed truck knowing full well I would never see those car again!

Thanks

Ash

The police are ........

I hope so just looked on Auto Trader and looks like the car is worth a lot less that I thought which has made me even more annoyed :(

Print/save any adverts you find that are comparable to your car so you can do battle with the insurance company.

Is it repairable, as you could buy it back and get repaired maybe.

I'll put some pics up when I'm in a better mood about it mate, but the rear axle is screwed the wheel is leaning out where is was smashed into the kerb. Also door, rear quarter, rear bumper, and both rear wheels are scar pitched and dented. I'm thinking some serious damage has been done underneath it! Loosing my excess £350 will also come off of the price they offer me! I think I'll be lucky to get £3500 for it but it is mega annoying. I guess that's the risk you take when spending fairly big money modifying older cars.

Put it. On retention now, think it costs £80 have it on retention

Sorry to see about your car anyones worse nightmare!

Sorry to hear this, I'm shocked the police aren't interested-I thought being uninsured was a serious offence?
Regards

Being hit from one side and pushed into the kerb on the other

Do you have m sports seats. If you do it could be worth buying back just for them.

Real sorry to hear this and feel for you. Uninsured drivers are a real curse. No incentive to get insurance if the police don't even care.

Value. Probably £4K at this time of year the mileage, etc. As the mods are worth nothing. Net of excess I'd agree you may see £3.5k+\-, but you can fight it up from there.

I'd get them to settle you out and keep the car or buy the scrap. At least you can pull the mods off as some have real value and of course red interior xenon's , etc.

So sorry to hear what happened Ash - as regards the plate retention it is now £80 and no annual fee to renew - small consolation I'm afraid :( Hope things are sorted soon and you find a good replacement.

Totally gutted for you mate, hope you get it sorted quickly and as best as possible.

I hope the tw*t who hit you gets f00king herpes. Same with the disinterested rozzers

sorry to hear  :headbang:

can you not just put the private plate on retension, i think it can all be done on line now
