I don't buy the "blame the government" theory either.Yes I'm sure cuts etc play a big part in where resources go but it's against the law to drive without insurance and it's the police job to uphold the law. I would be speaking to your local mp and someone as high up in your police force as possible.

I'm not saying it's right, but maybe a little bit more info on the evidence at hand, can the police get a solid prosecution etc. before blurting out stupid offensive statements that belong on the likes of Citroen Saxo forums might be a bit more constructive / useful.
Sorry, but police cuts are not a theory, it's fact. You have a finite amount of resources vs task in any business. Do you not think every copper on the ground, who are like me and you, would love to investigate every crime possible and get a conviction? Think about it. If it's not being investigated, there's a reason behind it. Which I'm sure the OP would have been given, and if not I would also like to know why.
It's not a myth when our insurance goes up every year because of them!Grumpyowl said:Sad news,
As others have said if your in a position to by back and break the car of the juicy bits before scrapping you could come out ok.
Is it an urban myth, that all our car insurance policies are loaded in order to fund no fault no insurance accidents ?

Apologies, the comment wasn't directed specifically at you but at the generalised excuse that is given/accepted by the media etc. I think we accept it too easily.
Agreed, we don't know the details so it may be there is no evidence etc.
