Keep what you have (or sell one car) and buy a cheap weekend toy that will ensure you get the excitement you are craving:

Wow! You just added yet another thought to the process :headbang:

You could buy a Golf and a Seven for the price of your BMW, don't fight it :D

In all seriousness, my Westfield is at least as much fun if not more than my ///M. It's also less likely to lose me my licence as the performance is about changes in velocity and direction more than outright speed. It would certainly clear away the cobwebs on a Sunday afternoon...

I would think an M3 would be just a bit too thirsty as a daily driver for most people, although great fun

That's why I went with my M3 as a daily  & yes it's thirsty but I get to enjoy it all the time :driving: & when I ran my Z4 & TVR as second cars I always wanted to be driving them as my 520d daily was hopeless in the performance stakes & that's why I binned the second car set up, only slight problem with that is the M3 can feel a little ordinary at times as you are in it everyday.

There are arguments for & against for both options, at least I get to use the mrs's TT if I want a change.

Cant do M3 as needs to be a car the gf can drive - and she wont drive an M3.

Money loss wise I'm in a pretty good situation as I'm not desperate to sell, juts looking at it as a concept at the moment. She's taxed and insured for a year so wont cost me a bean but if somebody offered me what I paid for her then I'd probably go for it and take the hit on the tax.

Then knowing me, probably go an spunk it all on an Z4MC, Z3MC, Alpina Roadster and be back at square one again.

I never understand the demand for two practical cars, if i were you i'd try to have a 320d Touring, and a Z4MC.

Though that offers you no help - so here's my contribution - try a JB4 in the 335i ;)

Well, I used to run an Mr2 and a pug, with the husband driving his focus. I have now sold the 2. And bought the zed, with the intention of keeping the pug as the work horse, and selling the focus. Means only two lots of insurance, servicing, etc.
No reason to have two 'sensible' cars.

Its gotta mate  no point in tolerating a car that has no magic .
Selling up doesn't need to be a wallet buster , , For me the car kitty would be whatever you get for your 2 cars divided into whatever you feel like buying
Golf Gti MK5 does everything with such aplomb , once owned you can't not love it so that would be my first move & i wouldn't pay more than £7k maybe even slip a R32 in the mix & just don't tell mrs i what the difference is :) they aren't super quick but they look & sound terrific .
Then if the funds allow another Z4Mc :driving: its a proven heartwarmer for you
La dolce vita restored
