For any of of you who have not followed my tale of woe my 35is expired after 6 weeks. Looking around I don't see too much to match it 'bang for buck' (apologies for that I coud not think of another phrase). Has anyone got any other suggestions?

It depends what you want Steve, you could get an Elise for similar money which will handle considerably better than a z4 but hasn’t got the same rounded appeal as a luxurious bmw :?

Ah, there you go nail on head. Elise is out an out sports car but a bit basic. Anything I think is comparable to the Z4 is 1. More expensive 2. Dearer to run 3. Very expensive if it goes wrong. There is not much in the same ball park. For a 35is there are 3 on AT today.

Aren't the 35is very expensive when they go wrong

Here is about the only one i would consider a similar car with regard yr - miles - spec - performance & spend ££ , these things are rapid , sound well & very sure footed :driving: remapped they are brutal  very little will match them without entering supercar territory

Yeah, they do look ..... awful.

Face the facts , £12k-£20k there is very little to out-tick a 35is if you want a modern , fast & comfortable 2 seater convertible

Shame they look so terrible in any form.

The coupe is at least better looking than its vert sibling  some may even consider it better looking than a Fiat Coupe :fingertap:

What do you actually use it for? It could be that your ideal car isn’t actually something 35is-like but something completely different!

:o :slappy:

The Fiat Coupe had to compete with the mk1 TT. Which I liked far more that the current one. Shame the old one was so slow. :driving:

With your user name you must be avin' a larf, mate!

Has to be a Z4M OP, unless you don't like changing gear yourself!

Meaning what?

The guy was asking for alternative cars

A Z4M isn’t really an alternative is it, unless he wants a manual gearbox now, crap suspension, old tech, broken springs, rust, rotten brake pipes and weekly visits to a chiropractor.

Stevo, let's face it, you want a 35is again...................go on...................say it. :poke:

If you'd put a fiver in a jar every time you asked the forum to convince you, then you could have bought one by now :D

Look forward to seeing your new 35is at Pete Beales at the end of the month

Just buy another one already :poke:

Why not buy a cheaper, solid 30i. Save a few quid and have a worry free car to enjoy?
