Alpine White ZMC Lookie-Likie

Today I started a fun project to build my moon mile coupe into a ZMC look alike.

I’ve had my heart set on an Alpine White ZMC ever since the day I sold my Imola Blue one but I’ve never had an opportunity to own one. I’ve sat researching the 18 that were built and I’ve got good data on 15 still being maintained. So while I wait patiently in the hope that one day I can take over that maintenance journey for one I’ll build something close.

Ive already done quite a lot to this zed. It still goes like a rocket and is as strong as any 3.0si I’ve owned.
- Brand new Bilstein B12 shock and springs all round to give it that teeth chattering feel of an M!!
- stripped and powder coated rear subframe and bushes

I’ve got an lsd in the garage waiting to be fitted. I also have a quad exhaust and M rear bumper on standby. My starting point however is sorting out all the bodywork ahead of a likely wrap (or perhaps a respray). Today I’ve fitted a replacement n/s front wing to side step a few dents. The rear o/s panel is next.

I actually quite like the two-tone effect. It follows the car's lines quite well.
Apart from the annoyingly straight edge on those overpriced sideskirts. :poke: :D

I really wish that I had the skills some of you guys have. Must be really satisfying to take on a project like this. Sadly I’m the guy who, when he takes something to pieces and re-assembles it, ends up with several bits left over.
Fortunately I live near bigwin and Anubis Z.

That looks like an interesting project, so it will be interesting to see how it progresses!

Any thoughts about supercharging it for some extra oomph?

Supercharging an engine on 230k!!!!!
That’s more likely to be b-oomph!

I’ll see how far I get with my current plan first :)

I can accept that. You didn’t mention the tin lid so I’ll take that as progress 🤭 We’ll convert you one part at a time 😂

Hold on?
You want to ‘convert’ me to a tin top.
How does that work? :D

Just knock on one of you neighbours doors and ask if you can borrow theirs  :poke:

Replace rod bearings and timing chain and that will be absolutely fine for a super charger to be added.
You’re on my contact list j3nks79 when the day comes. I’ve always fancied taking it on. I have a lot of reading and learning to do first.

The 230k miles prob even means you won't need to gap it as the rings will be perfectly gapped in for SC at that age. Lol.

Body prep is nearly complete and booked in for the wrap in Jan. However I’m having second thoughts on white. I do love a nice green!!

Sample testing satin green:
