There are no major issues over a standard 3.0, if you follow the buyers checklist for the standard zed you'll be fine. Mine was rock solid and there are a few owners on here. Markeg's one is higher mileage than the one you're looking at. You do occasionally hear of head gasket failure but that's a simple compression test to eliminate as an issue.
Good luck with it, they're fantastic cars. There's an amount of M vs Alpina discussion, I've owned both and they're both brilliant. Different tools for different jobs. You'll get no Alpina bashing from me

Head gaskets can be an issue at around that mileage, and are very expensive, so worth checking if it's been done
How's about a Black Lux with red leather in mint, and I mean MINT condition on a 54-plate with 52k and FBMWSH? Mine's available and very well cared for, with no issues. Not cheap, but among the best you will ever see! PM if you want to know anyrhing about them/it; I'm a bit knowledgable on them, too 
Weaknesses? Head gaskets on high milers are a huge cause for concern if left unattended (no usual oil/water mix as a pre-warning), and then the usual E85 issues, ie steering column, vanos, rear springs: all changed in recent times on mine 8)

If you can stretch to the extra, Ade's is well worth looking at as it's doubtful that you'll find a better example (except, perhaps, mine )

If you're arranging a px deal then things are a little more complicated than a straight purchase - look over the buyers guide for the E85 as that will give you the majority of the pointers for things to look at and scrutinise the service history. Expect an 'unusual' exhaust sound when stating from cold but it should settle down to a smooth burble within 30 secs or so (depends how cold it is)
