Hi all, no 73 is owned by me. The ebay ad is a fake but form a legit account from what I can see. It has been reported to ebay but they clearly don't want to do anything about it. The car is for sale at the moment but at a £14,750.

That certainly seems a more sensible price, looks a nice example, good luck with sale!
Hope you get something sorted with eBay!

I think the value of these cars have certainly taken a correction of late along with most other vehicles. I know my one was priced at the top end of the scale but hopefully that is reflected in its condition and how it has been maintained during my 10 years of ownership. It was also a bad time of year to advertise it for sale (just after Christmas!) so I will probably try again when the big yellow thing in the sky comes out and at a more reasonable price.

In the meantime if anybody is interested in an enthusiast owned example with 86k miles, FSH, Bilstein's and steering wheel retrim please step this way :D . All original Alpina parts will also come with it for those who prefer the standard set up. A full for sale ad will come in April when it goes back on the road.

I'd imagine a lot of dealers will be trying to offload stock at seriously low prices the next few months, but who's going to be buying?

Do you not think thats the same Scam as the No73 advert, just a different car this time? £8500 has got to be too cheap and the same price as asked in the last scam I believe

Could be, but I think it’s been advertised for a while now. I can’t remember the original sale price, getting too old :oldman: May be something else wrong with it? But have to agree, way too cheap.

Hey All - newbie here.

Saw this one has an auction due to start soon and wondered if anyone knows any history?

It was previously offered at Manheim Bristol in Nov-18 and appears to have done almost no mileage since then. It was a bit tired going off the Grade5 auction appraisal and there were only 3 services mentioned at 15k in 2006, 44k in 2012 and 64k in 2018.

Who knows...? Romans have a 29k miler lux with hardtop that’s gone down from 26k to 20k and still sitting there with, only in my opinion of course, a better colour combo of black sapphire and red interior. I’m no expert by any measure but at the moment both these cars seem absolute top ask. Along with M’s prices have gone south side as we all know, but the Romans car has been for sale for probably a year now long before covid with no takers so that says it all really doesn’t it. Having said that I’d have it on my drive in a heartbeat if I could, it’s an utter beauty, I’d love an Alpina...

There are two silver Alpina's up for sale at the moment. This one above at £15995 (#017) and the other one (#251) for £16.950 at Junction 17 cars near Peterborough.
#017 is a an early 2004 Alpina car on 44k miles and a clearly a lux model. (mine is #019) Early cars had the brown/bronze radio,/console colour. It also appears to have a nicer refurbished and now slightly thicker Royals steering wheel rather than the standard thinner OEM wheel stitching.

#251 is a later 2006 car with the black radio, console parts and was spotted for sale at the same dealer in Jan 2019 with the same mileage and the original ask was £20k, so I'd imagine they're already near if not beyond a loss on it. Its also badly described as its not a Lux model, but quoted with Xenons, which I dont think it has, as the headlight switch has the leveling control wheel, which normally indicates halogens and is in-line with the no Nav, non Lux spec. The addition of an aftermarket bluetooth device also suggests it wasn't standard and again was part of the Lux spec.

I know which one I'd buy out of the two.

I’m guessing you’ve seen the Romans black car for sale Alan, what’s your opinion of the £20k ask...? Looks an absolute beauty but even with a hardtop and the mileage it’s just too much no..? Tell me I’m wrong if I am...which is probably true..

#317 - It’s very nice but top money John If you’re looking for a mint classic that’s probably it, but personally it’s not my first choice colour combination as black isn’t an easy colour to maintain. Black leather I like but black paintwork Is hard to keep clean. I’m also not a big fan of red leather.

The hard top is worth £800 I suppose so that softens it slightly but do you need a hard top on a car you’re not likely to bring out in the wet ?
The last Alpina still in the 20k mile area was the Sterling Cat C car and that went through auction at £11k and is now floating around various showrooms at £14k but not really a like for like comparison.

Maybe a middle ground around £17.5k would be a better price if it’s a car and combination that floats your boat. I can’t see a 25k mile ZMR fetching £20k so I’d be looking for more of an even level personally.

That’s bang on where I was thinking too Alan, 18k tops. Colour combo purely personal choice of course, a fine example regardless.

A question on values, I have been the owner of #116 for a while but with a kid and 3 other cars on the drive it doesn't see much use.

If you could potentially do with the money but aren't itching to get rid of the car, would you try and sell now? Or is it better to wait (and if so, how long for?)

Roadster S 3.4 Lux, 126k miles if I remember correctly. Huge box of receipts, I think values have plummeted a bit so may want to hold on for next summer.

I’d say if you can hang on until next year then do that, it’s probably the worst time to be selling a car in years, folk will be waiting to pick up the inevitable bargains that will be coming onto market. Just imo of course.

Heads up Alpina gang.

Does look a belter. Not sure about the Auction process though and it doesn't state when the auction starts/ends yet.

I must admit that I have not seen those particular cars, although I did look at a couple of Z4Ms and the 2 Alpina version last year at Junction 17 in Peterborough and was very disappointed at the general condition of a lot of the cars that they had for sale. I think private is always your best bet.
