Alpina for Sale

This has been on sale for a long time and it's not 'one of the best'

There are better cars available including one that has been discussed here recently http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=43301

It has no service history, and it isn't in the best condition. Move along folks....However, if someone is seriously tempted to take a risk, I have a very detailed report on the condition of this car inc a test drive. The interior was very nice: even if the car had ALPINA overmats from a different car which just simply don't fit!

They started this at £15k back in May...it's come down a long way in price now for good reason :!:

I think ZermattV looked at this one. Shocking that there's no history :o

No, he looked at the silver one in Aberdeen, #311 at £16k ....which has history, but a not very knowledgable owner :o The one in this thread is #264

I can confirm that i looked at these two..

Black and Red Leather

and this one

Silver and Red Leather

the one @ FoW I phoned about but no Service History :!:

its only the one at Fords of Winsford at the top of the post that has lost its service history - from what i believe know one knows whether the book is just lost or whether its never been serviced .

I'm being fussy I know, but the silver car description claims 500 produced worldwide, not true. Although Alpina has never officially published total production, #369 appears to be the last one.

On both it says full service history in the description though?

Both of the cars referred to above have SH, the one that doesn't is http://www.fow.co.uk/vehicle_details.asp?id=105752

As far as I am aware there are currently 9 Alpina Roadster S' for sale in the UK, 2 Std and 7 Lux models with prices ranging from £9,350 for #156, a 168k miler (private sale), to £16,850 for #167, a 23k5 miler from Sytner's. As Ade keeps mentioning people should buy these on condition and history and #264, the 23k8 mile example in the link above, is probably not as good a buy as #318, the black 50k example that was viewed by ZermattV, or #249, the Sterling Grey 22k5 mile example discussed in this thread http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=43301

IIRC, the number doesn't relate to the model, just the Alpina production number. There are 167 RHD models or the roadster S for the UK.

Edit - the sterling grey one is in my office car park today (it belongs to a friend). It's low mileage and mint. New 452s just gone on the back wheels. Iain (the owner) will be putting together a better ad for it shortly. Well worth a look if you're considering buying one

Over on Alpina-Archive, they quote a production run of 373 and as Kees, the person that runs the site, has access to factory documentation including the build sheets for all the cars, I'd be inclined to accept his figure as being accurate unless someone has access to more accurate data

That's absolutely right, the numbers are build sequence numbers and the known RHD cars range from #2 which was featured in the March 2004 BMWCar test to #344

Certainly closer to a real number than 500, thanks for sharing.
