Most people complain of metallic twanging sounds or rattles from the back of the car. I had an oil service and change of pads done not long after I bought mine and one was found to be broken. I didn't experience any real symptoms, but I hadn't had the car long so I wasn't familiar with how it handles. You can inspect the rear springs by taking of the rear wheels if you're worried.
If they fail under warranty BMW will replace them, sometimes they will even without warranty as an act of good will. Aftermarket springs are an alternative option if you're paying yourself.
