Had the alignment done yesterday. Main drive behind getting it done was fitting the Eibachs and also because I hit the front wheel pretty hard (enough to buckle it)
Well surprisingly the settings were pretty much bang on. Quite a bit of camber at the rear but thats consistent with the drop from fitting the springs. So after loading up both footwells with a load of weight we set about making the changes. I wanted a bit more camber up front to dial out some of the understeer. But at the same time keeping in mind this is predominantly a road car so tyre wear and tramlining need taking into account, ie we don't want to go too extreme on the camber.
Rear camber needed putting back to oem. So at the end of this we'd be getting the camber a lot more even front to rear therefore we should end up with a more balanced car.
So this is what we ended up with:
As for how it feels on the road I haven't had a good chance to test it. It was tipping it down here so couldn't really explore the limits of the front end grip (well more I didn't want to risk it on wet roads in a car I'm still not that familiar with and on new allignment settings!) One thing I did notice is the tramlining that did increase a little after fitting the springs is still evident. Its not that bad and doesn't prevent you putting your foot down in a straight line.
Once it dries out and I get a chance I'll take it out and see how it behaves, and report back.
As for the guys at Carnetix I can recommend them. Seem knowedgeable and not afraid to take their time explaining things and doing the job right. Good set up there too 8)
