Ok,
For some time, I have "lusted" after a decent 1/2" impact wrench, most notably the Snap On CTU8850 range. BUT at over £500 with a couple of batteries, it was just overkill IMHO, for the times I would use it, and worrying about the batteries etc.
Don't get me wrong, they are awesome, my neighbour has 3 so if I ever need to borrow one, I can. BUT I also thought them a bit bulky and heavy..
Anyway, seeing as I bagged myself a new compressor yesterday, I now have a decent air supply in the garage. Got myself a V Twin
SIP 9.5CFM with a 100ltr receiver for... £24
Actually it was £140, but I sold gold that I had bought in the shop for £24, for said £140...
BIG increase in air availability and recovery time from my 5yr old Wolf 3.0cfm with 24ltr receiver!
Anyway, got to thinking about air powered impact wrenches, as they are lighter, smaller and above all cheaper.
So have been hitting the net reading reviews, comparing prices etc. Looked at used ones on Ebay, but for an Ingersoll Rand or Snap On, they are silly money.
Then I came across "Aircat" and specifically their 1150 Killer..
Damn, 1,295ftlb loosening torque and 950ftlb for tightening?? WTF, the Snap On CTU has 600ftlb for loosening and tightening, and I've never struggled using one.
So, @ £250 ish from a UK supplier, I bobbed onto Amazon.com, and it will be here next Thursday, total price, including a genuine protective boot, and import duty/taxes was £191.67 which I am pleased with, especially as the UK seller wa quoting 10 days delivery!
Anyone else using this, or similar? I can't wait for this baby to arrive!
