Air Bag Warning Light (New)

Car is booked in for its MOT tomorrow, so Sunday decided to go for a spin and within a mile, noticed the dreaded air bag warning light on, so turned around and came home.
Thinking this is the story of my life as the warning light is an MOT failure, spoke with the garage on Monday and the very knowledgeable receptionist asked whether the car had been used much recently, I said it hadn't and she thought a low battery could have brought the light up.
Charged for a few hours and yesterday took it out and all seems OK.
Not sure how or why a low (ish) battery could cause this? Enough power in the battery to start OK. Possible?

Low battery seems to cause a whole load of odd issues. My windows were playing up randomly, new battery has solved it. Still had enough juice to start but it took a little longer than normal.

Mine wasn't really holding charge (though I only tested it with a multimeter) - got a new battery for £68 - higher capacity and CCA, let me know if you want the link :driving:

Mine does has a similar issue however you the light turns off after a restart of the engine and only comes once every 3 months or so. Random I know lol

Thanks for the responses, I'm a bit more relaxed, just so long as it doesn't show during the MOT.

Did you airbag light go off? Mines been on for months.

I put some black tape over it to get it through the mot.

should have been failed as there is no evidence of a self test with the airbag present!

Ben, time for a shiny Nardi now I think. :poke:

Yes warning light cleared and sailed through the MOT. I still have a passenger seat belt warning light that needs a new pre-tensioner to clear but for the MOT I just make sure the belt is clipped in. Happy for now :)
