well my insurance is up for renewal next month so iv'e just done a search.
getting on a bit does seem to have it's advantages in some ways as my quote with morethan was...£179.01 for my ///MC.. :D :D :D

I'm also with Morethan - looking at yours may be I should have negotiated a bit more ! - for my 3.0SE inc legal protection , protected bonus etc £199. (Ancient at 64 and living in a village on the IOW )

I did a bit of quote searching and was surprised at how cheap the ///MC is to insure.

£600 for a 25y male, 5 years NCB, 3 points, and 12k mileage per year.

I'm paying £450 now for a 1.7 diesel Astra.

i didn't want the legal protection and didn't include protected bonus.
£250 vol and £350 comp excess(not so ancient 53)

I would be a bit wary about not including legal protection - it's primarily in case you're hit by an uninsured driver ( there's a lot of these scrotes about ! ) I paid an extra £25 for this which was annoying but on balance worth the peace of mind.

'03 2.5i manual, £1,800 with Admiral full comp

0 years NCB (haven't driven for 1 year yet), 25y male

Hopefully when it's due for renewal in Aug I'll have a NCB and it'll be a lot cheaper!

I'm 93 and my insurance costs £1.50, and I haven't caused an accident in weeks.

I've never managed to get a straight answer about what legal protection covers. I expect it means different things to different insurers but I was wholly unimpressed last time I asked one. As far as I could tell all they would do is pass you on to solicitors on their own appointed board (who no doubt wouldn't be my first choice) and then they'll pursue it on a CFA. Chances are your case will be handled by a paralegal anyway and you'll spend months chasing them as your case will be one of hundreds they're handling. So if you know anyone in the legal profession I'd use them.

Incidently I was hit by an uninsured driver once who drove away from the scene. My passenger managed to get the numberplate (whilst I was effing and blinding) and the DVLA helpfully agreed to provide us with the owner's address. Rocked up, got a photo of the damage on his car, matched it to ours and handed the details to our insurer and police. Problem sorted, excess returned :D

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how easy my Z4M roadster was to insure. I'm 23 with 3 years ncb and a fault claim in 2010 with a post code classed as Slough (rated as D by insurance companies so not great) I was quoted £900 from Elephant

I'm 23 and when I renewed mine in January it was £536 for my ///MC with 6 years NCB and only £250 voluntary excess with admiral, beat last years price of £780
