Aero Skirts best price???

Beedub, 6 words - deep breath, single malt, aaaaand relax

Don't sweat the boxing match either - you seem to be A guy who has worked hard and won a lot... But a little dose of not winning is good for the soul. Still feels like sh1t, but you know it makes you stronger 8)

Gutted for you beedub... They def need a respray to put right.... But look on the bright side... Was only the cost of the respray... And at least they didn't f**k up your car.

And once done properly and fitted will make it all worth while in the end

We've exchanged several pm''s and I'm as gutted as you. This is the real problem of recommendations.
These guys have sprayed dozens of items for me over the years and to the highest standard. Hell I can spray better than that....

For sure I won't recommend them, but it's sad this has happened and they can't fix it, but I understand.

i agree but i absolutely cant take my car to these people..... ive had one warnign by the standard of this work, no way can i trust them with a car ive pured my soul into.... i just cant do it.... id rather loose 175 notes any day of the week.....

now if they want to repaint the skirts again, no problm, ive already asked that and was told they only need to be flatted and polished.....

youve seen the pics phil..... they dont lie...... i paid for the work and got a poor job.... maybe you can give your guy a call and explain what youve seen but my car IS NOT going to these guys..... at this point i think its best i move on and get it repainted by my people... but as youve said these guys do good work maybe i got a one off, it can happen right???

hes a nice guy no doubt.... but from what ive seen...... s**t at his trade. Simpson would have NEVER even allowed me to collect those skirts looking like, theyd do it 10 x to get it right.....

Sorry to hear your woes on this one Beedub, I dropped mine off at the sprayers (a different one to you I hasten to add) over the weekend.
He has the car as there are few other things I'm getting done at the same time, he's under no time serious time constraints as I'm not back in the UK until the end of the month at the earliest. I just hope he makes as a good a job of them as he did of spraying my front bumper last year.
I've even left him a camera to hopefully take a few pictures of the various stages.

I'm sure you'll get them sorted to your satisfaction.

Having thought about this I would simply return the sills to the bodyshop and have them repainted as you requested. If they won't as the faults clearly won't polish out then ask for a refund. You have nothing to lose by asking this.

Errors happen but I believe in allowing companies to rectify them, but at the end of the day it's your money, car and choice.

Just as a sidenote (and I'm not defending this work) the company is a specialist body repair shop working on behalf of major insurance companies. They are also the body and paint shop for the Vauxhall main agent next door and do all the work on their cars.

What about taking them back and just asking them to flat and polish them? If they say they cna only do that on the car that's bollox, if that is all they need they can certainly make them look a lot better. I'll let you know how mine are when I pick them up this evening, see if they managed to make a good job of finshing them off without the car?

Mine were done to a high standard off the car, however I can understand the ease to polish if they are fixed rigid, however given the circumstances I'd understand Beedub not wanting to leave the car and I also think thye need a full flat and respray.

ok ive given some options....

i WILL however not drop my car to these people... not on your nelly.....

ive requested he repaint them, or give me my money back..... ive also stated im not happy to leave my car with these guys..... i too believe mistakes can happen and its how you deal with them hat matters..... But i can say..... his work so far is massively concerning..... i should have NEVER had tried these people and stuck to simpson.....

im half tempted to just loose the money and go elsewhere....

ok im dropping them back to be repainted.... sending one of my staff right now.... :-)

lets see if second time lucky goes well :-)

this guy is without question a nice guy but so far im not impressed by the paint work.... ive asked him to take and time and get these RIGHT..... i could have easily ignore the minor issues and put these on my car but as most people know on this forum my car is simply in the best condition possible... i will not ruin it by sticking on shoddy work... anyhow i agree with phil, he deserves the right to put these right..... if i will honestly say if they come back looking rough again im going to not say a word to him and have them repainted elsewhere.....

lets see how we go, these are now with them, i guessing ill pick them up friday.....

I reckon they'll be absolutely perfect this time.

x2 - and there will also be someone with the boss' handprint on the side of their head for three weeks, perhaps even 170 fewer pounds in their wage packet...

Beedub, picking them up on good friday......? :o

And on a positive note my skirts have arrived :trampoline:
dropping them off tomorrow and sounds like there are going to do them that day so hopefully, if i dont get issues like beedub there will be on this Easter.Lets just hope the dreaded curse doesn't strike again.

Jonny glad that they finally arrived, I did email Jamie that they better turn up today as otherwise Jonny will be a very unhappy bunny and on the phone to you ;)

Let's see who gets to install them first :)

Good luck - fingers crossed. Can't be worst than last time and nothing much to lose at this stage. I shan't interfere as I'd like him to do his job without me calling, etc.

i agree nothing to loose now... if they are crap again ill quietly leave it at that one and move on...... its wasting alot of my time going backwards and forwards, im sending my staff out to do this or im doing it, it looks terrible....

these cursed sideskirts ..... hopefully im the last of the curse!!! BUT i simply wont except anything but perfect.... my car deserves nothing less....

only just got home :|

Unwrapped one for a quick inpsection and it looks great, i'll have a proper look in the morning when I can unwrap them both and hopefully fit them. The guy spraying them said he was really pleased with how thy turned out :) So at this point my seem curse free (touching wood frantically) perhaps I shouldn t have said that until I fitted them :headbang:

oh and the girlfriend, on seeing me walk in with this 6ft tall box wanted to know 'what the hell is that' I told her its just a part i've bought for the car that will improve aerodynamics and therefore save me money on fuel, just a boring functional thing don't worry about it honey
