Have you checked your insurance? Get a quote as mr wilks is right - the two 3.0si for sale on the forum make a great deal of sense if you can stretch?
Which ones?

Mr wilks, it was the amount of owners that out me off the one you linked too

Would you pay over the odds for less owners ?
Bear in mind you are paying £4500/£7000 for at best a 10 yr old car that is for 90% of owners a luxury or weekend vehicle
Sports cars being notorious for folks only keeping one year or sometimes even less ( who me :D never  )
Best advice you could take is don't be afraid to look & walk away , buy on condition , service record & general gut feeling than number of owners ( within reason of course )
Id say a 10 yr old Z4 with 4-5-6 even 7 owners shouldn't be ruled out

Are we confusing the question of what is the best car , rather than what is the best car for him ?
- The OP is 24 and has 6 points (at the mo), so the 'best car', may not be the most practical solution.

I suppose it also depends on what he wants the car for? A daily commute or a weekend blast ripping up the countryside

Ive listed 4 from 2.0 to 3.0Si , completely his choice whichever suits but within this thread he has mentioned future values & for that my money would go into the 3.0Si especially at current options for buying at 2.5 money :?

Thats fair comment. (Perhaps I should have read the whole thread first, not just skimmed it ! )

Oh and I just bought a 3.0 se 2003 Z4 a few weeks ago, paid £5100 for it as its a minter. In my opinion as a newbie, you have made the right choice. That 3.0 engine is probably one of the best motors ever made. By anyone, ever.... im not biased.... honest... :?

Pics will follow tonight!

I need a new third brake light.. cheapest place?

Also where is generally cheapest bmw dealer for an inspection 1 service?
