Advice required now - re services and counter

Yes gearbox and diff oils changed on inspec2. I'm sure if they were that critical BMW would specify every 4 years. These are sealed units and I guess not likely to get contaminated from other sources unlike the engine oil.

Yeah this is possible I suppose. On my previous Defender, they were all changed every 2yrs/24k miles regardless, so I don't see why BMW think theirs can stay in for 10 years (for example) if the car only does low mileage.

Upto the owner of course, but I would personally change the oils, even if I didn't have the valve clearances checked!

- 12/03/10 - Oil Service (11952 miles) BMW
- 08/06/10 - Inspection 1, Microfilter (24476 miles - 13k miles in 3 months) - BMW
- 26/03/12 - Inspection 2, Oil Service, Brake Fluid, Microfilter, Air Cleaner, Plugs (38761 miles) AW Motorsport
- 12/10/13 - Oil Service, Brake Fluid, Microfilter (48650) - BMW

So in 2010 you're car had an Inspection 1 soon after first oil service as the miles ticked up quickly in a short time.
I would have also expected an Oil Service between that and the Insp 2 done two years/14k miles after that in 2012.
After today's Oil Service, I would say you're next due an Inspection 1 in mid/late 2015 or before if you're countdown tells you mileage has got you there faster!

That's what I think anyway! Am sure others on here may have other ideas :o

I think that service history is fine isn't it? An oil service between the Inspection 1 and Inspection 2 wasn't strictly needed because they were only two years apart and the mileage between them is about right too.
