Advice on overspray!

Hi,

I had my driver seat refurbished a few months ago, and this involved a re-spray whilst the seat was in-situ.
Though the co. covered up most areas, they left the black piano trim around the gear knob uncovered, which resulted in some very fine overspray going onto this black trim.

No problem , I thought, it will come off with a gentle wipe but this didn't work.
So, used make-up removing wipes, but this didn't work neither.
Next step, tried Meguirs APC but still no joy.
Yesterday tried the other halfs nail polish remover but this didn't work.

I'm a little unsure whether to now try white spirit or paint remover, as I'm worried about the gloss finish. Any suggestions anyone?....

I'm not an expert, but have you tried a clay bar? When I had lacquer over spray on my bonnet a clay bar lifted it straight off no issues. It may not work for internal but that's my two pence :)

I would second this as a clay bar worked for to remove renovo roof restorer overspray from the cars paintwork,

... & the fabled WD40, with some brave & gentle agitation... using a branded good quality non abrasive pan scourer in a small area at a time

The trusty flash magic eraser and WD40 did the trick!
That said, I tried one of those plastic pan scourers first, and ended up scratching it in places! :headbang:

If the scratched are bad use some wet and dry 3000m then polish. they will come out.

I speak from experience on removing bad scratched from a piano black trim

I use this with great results, in fact it gets rid of almost all the fines scratches on my Piano Black
