Well this was an interesting read.

Now can we agree that murdering someone in cold blood on a busy street is wrong and should be punished irrespective of race, relgion, belief, mental state or whatever and move on.

Meh im not religious in the slightest but my mum is a Christian and one of the deacons of our local church. They can can do alot of good in the world. An old lady finding peace and hope in religion before her terrifying impending death, a young man being rescued from a life of crime and drug addiction through love and support, a family of six being housed and fed out of church goers donations when the father died, a safe and listening environment being offered to a woman being beaten and abused at home. These are all things ive personally witnessed in the last year. Whether its aload of old codswallop or not, its generalisations and narrow thinking that brings the suffering and pain in the world, those that cause wrongdoing in the name of religion dont represent all spiritual people any more than the actions of an atheist represent all atheists.

I can't understand the actions of the media in all this. Why did Sky and particularly the BBC broadcast what amounted to a speach by repeating what they said in their defence and extolling the virtues of what they did and trying to justify it in such great detail.

Whatever your views on Margaret Thatcher you have to agree on one decision she made in dealing with the IRA by denying these terrorists the oxygen of publicity. Just one report that they are sentenced to life and are never to be heard of again would have been sufficient

as for the hitler thing, you are just trying to make excuses for him which is fair enough but your only downfall is that 95% of germany was still christian regardless of hitlers faith and they were the ones on the streets pulling the triggers not just the man giving orders..... i guess that never occurred to your small minded concept of religion and wars and trying to justify that the christian religion that you seem to want to put on a peddestal is far more vile than you deem to believe

I remember a similar thread earlier this year where you didn't like the response of other members and you called all the "white people" on the forum "gay cu.nts" I guess your also a 'hater'?

Anyway I think religion is another layer of control - so stand in line and follow your leader...
