Yes the bloke admitted to the police that he pulled out without looking, and took the details.

I've been on the phone sorting everything out for the last couple of hours and should have a like for like car and have mine taken to Sytners this afternoon :thumbsup:

Well i'm hoping it's not going to be written off so i'll let you know when i know what's happening :lol:
 
Crikey! Glad to hear you're ok. Remember cars can get fixed, people not always. Try to remember that when you're looking at your car!

Another massive thumbs up for Europa Car consultants. I've used them in the past and they've saved me an enormous amount of hassle and time.

Hope your car gets sorted (or another Coupe comes your way) very soon.
 
Oh Lucy, what a s**t, but at least you are OK and thats the main thing, i Hope you dont have to much crap from the insurance people.
 
Sorry to hear this. Sounds like you have done all the right things - I assume someone also has photos of his van/the lorry in the road to show he pulled out too.

Take it easy for a few days, shock can be a strange thing.

Seems like a lot of damage to repair. I'd be hoping for a write off, rather than repair. Find a nice straight example, rather than knowing your car is never quite right underneath.
 
Gutted for you Lucy - horrible, really sorry to hear it!

I'd be more inclined to hoping they write it off, as that damage looks significant.

As you say it could have been worse, at least you're OK.

I agree I'd hope for a right off, just wouldn't ever seem right after a big repair.
 
Sorry to hear this, and glad you're ok Lucy!

I would say that as long as the suspension upright (and related parts) haven't been damaged, which it's hard to say from the pictures (and doesn't sound too promising from your description about it being undriveable) then it will be an easy repair. You'll need to be looking at repairs amounting to about 65-75% of the replacement cost of the vehicle for it to be written off. I don't know what the current values of a 3.0 Coupe are?

I'd push for something more then the 2.0 Roadster though! I just had a brand new E92 M3 for 5 weeks whilst my car had a new rear bumper after someone reversed into it! It took 5 weeks though as the bodyshop didn't match the paint well enough (for me anyway!) the first time around, so I made them redo it. Having the M3 certainly made it easier to leave the car at the bodyshop so they got it right though! And any hire costs for supplying you with a car will be paid for by the 3rd party insurer.
 
How about this for not like for like. I'm currently on the phone on a 3way with my insurance company and the hire company, and they won't insure me on the 2.0 roadster because of my age :?

So how's this, i'm getting a silver 2.0 automatic diesel 320 in the morning :rofl: :(
 
You did well to get a new M3. I was offered a 2.0 Z4 first, then a Z6 (!). I complained and was offered a 330d as that was the only other car they had :roll: That's Barons Accident Management for you :evil:
 
How annoying since you're already insured for a 2008 3.0 Coupe!!! Oh well, at least you won't be without wheels.

Actually, thinking further - there is a company you may want to talk to (one of the management is a Pistonheader and regularly gets folks equivalent loan cars when they have non-fault indicents)

So sorry that this happened, and great that you're OK. Seems we can't have anything nice without someone messing things up. I know you are a smart girl and won't allow for second best in getting your car repaired or replaced. Please keep us up-to-date on the progress.
 
Lucy sorry to here this but as said glad you are OK.

Do not agree on better being written off as i had a head on in my last car i was gutted but they did a superb repair and the car went on to win me 2 trophies at car shows hope you get it sorted soon
 
You walked away largely unharmed, thats the most important thing! :thumbsup: Cars can be fixed or replaced....
