ABS Issue (Brakes locking up) - Not common fault

That’s exactly what used to happen to me with the rear wheel locking up.

I had to swap the module though. Hopefully fixing the pipe order works for you :)

Alright! Calm down. Heard you the first time. :rofl:

Ok so some months on and winter has arrived, thought it best not to chance an ABS event in the cold and crash. Got the pipes swapped and the ABS module bled, issue has gone away! ABS kicks in as its supposed to and none of the wheels lock.

I guess with the age of these cars now more and more people are going to have their hardlines replaced, this issue is likely to crop up again.

Thankfully the German engineers saw this coming and labelled the ABS unit, unfortunately its labelled in German.

Translation is as follows:

V = Vor = Front
VL = Vor Link = Front Left
VR = Vor Rechts = Front Right

H = Hinter = Rear
HL = Hinter Links = Rear Left
HR = Hinter Rechts = Rear Right

My unit had its main rear (H) and the rear left (HL) pipes swapped.
