So I changed my brake fluid on the weekend. Used Motul RBF 600 which is a gold color. Sucked out the reservoir, bled all 4 brake lines and the clutch line. Drove thar car around the corner and when I got back to the driveway, checked the reservoir again. The reservoir fluid now was brown/black (ie. a very very dark color). How did that happen?
Does it have something to do with ABS? I thought brake fluid didn't circulate like coolant and engine oil. I thought brake fluid just went back and forth in the lines. Did I forget to bleed something and somehow the old fluid cycled it's way into the reservoir?
thanks.
