ABS/Brake Fluid Question

So I changed my brake fluid on the weekend. Used Motul RBF 600 which is a gold color. Sucked out the reservoir, bled all 4 brake lines and the clutch line. Drove thar car around the corner and when I got back to the driveway, checked the reservoir again. The reservoir fluid now was brown/black (ie. a very very dark color). How did that happen?

Does it have something to do with ABS? I thought brake fluid didn't circulate like coolant and engine oil. I thought brake fluid just went back and forth in the lines. Did I forget to bleed something and somehow the old fluid cycled it's way into the reservoir?

thanks.

I'm afraid I can't help much.....other than to say I just swapped mine out to the Motul RBF 600 and took it tracking and the color is still as brown (maybe a slightly darker shade) as it was when I put it in.

so the brake pedal was nice and solid feeling throughout the day?

how was the car on the track? I've used Motul RBF 600 on the track before with other cars and it made A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!!! pedal was never mushy!! and i would go on the track for 30 mins at a time with no rests in between!! even after 2-3 hrs of track time (throughout a 6 hour window) the brakes were fine!! used about half the life of the pads, but hey, it's all in the name of fun!!

curious, how much is a 500 ml bottle of Motul RBF 600 in NV?

Yeah, I also upgraded to steel braided lines. I could tell immediatly when I was getting a little too hot with the brakes (I think I didn't get all of the old fluid out), but a couple of corners and the feeling went away. I was braking pretty hard off the straights, but yeah no big mushy feeling at all. Only slightly, it could of been my nerves/paranoia as the last time I was out I did get hot brakes. Sunday I didn't notice any pedal fade during any of the sessions.

So yeah nice and solid feeling all day.
I ordered the bottle from http://www.zeckhausen.com
