Looking good, as it should, silver and 108's :D
We're not biased in the least :D. Just need to get my wheels looking better - kerbing and corrosion are spoiling the overall look hence the lack of close-up shots!

Thanks for the comments. I was up at Dunkeld yesterday using the same roads - excellent driving roads from Stirling via Glendevon, Gleneagles, Crieff and Amulree. Shame the weather was typically Scottish: sun, drizzle, full-on rain, drizzle, hailstones(?), sun, rain, sun, heavy rain, sun, sun, rain - all within a few hours.

Well, there's a bit of a story to these latest photos...

Looked like a decent sunset on Sunday so I decided at the last second to head out for some sunset pics, but was running late. Didn't have enough time to get along to my favourite spots, so took a detour into Grangemouth. I always wanted to get some night shots around there with the oil refinery and plant in the background. So I found this big car park, completely empty, partly flooded from the rain we'd had. Perfect. Spent a happy 30mins snapping away and was about to pack up up when I got apprehended by security! Turns out they'd been tracking me on camera for the past 30mins because they viewed me as a security risk LOL - thought I was taking pics of the plant (the refinery is apparently a potential major target...). And it didn't end there. Their orders (from MI5 apparently) were to report anyone caught taking pics on the site to the police. So I had to hang around for the police! They were perfectly fine about it all when they realised what I'd been doing but I still got my name taken and told not to come back :D

Anyway, excitement over, here's some photos:

Cheers

great shots :D

Glad they saw sense and let you go

Yep,I somewhat crapped myself! Security cam blatting across the carpark full-beam on, thought I was in for a kicking as it was an unmarked car. I hate to imagine the outcome if I HAD jumped in the Z4 and bolted off to safety...

Thanks for the comments  . I was without my DSLR (Canon 350d cheapo) for a couple of months as the powerboard fried itself. Now fixed but still really learning how it works.

Wow, lovely photos!

Funny about the plod etc. Like a terrorist would turn up in a Z4 and hang around 30 mins with a big fat SLR...

Stupids!

Sort of my thoughts too LOL but I thought it best not to voice my opinion :D. The police were actually really good and said my photos looked good , they even thanked me for hanging around for them to arrive (I would've got a home visit if I hadn't though!) - it was the security guys who perhaps over-reacted a bit, but I suppose the procedure is there "for our safety and security"...

WOW, great pics!

i love images with industrial stuff in the background, the lighting and water on the ground is perfect 2. :driving:

im really going to have to invest in a proper camera :headbang:

Thanks for all the comments.

Camera's the most basic DSLR you can get: Canon EOS 350d, only £280 a few years ago including the basic lens and a 2GB card. Newest equalivalent is the 400d I think. I've since bought a zoom lens but haven't mastered that in the least . Plus I'm interested in the likes of polarising filters for some effects but don't quite understand it all yet...

The 350d is a good camera. Newer stuff makes old stuff feel a bit lacking, but after 5 mins behind an older SLR again and they feel good enough imho!

The photos I have taken, when I have taken good ones, have been good on SLR's ranging from £250 all up (3rd hand stuff etc), to £3000 for a 5D with a spangly lens on it.

I think you have shown it's about an idea and what you want to capture, 10x more than it is about the gear :D
